Liverpool: Johnson Expects To Be Fit

Glen Johnson was forced to miss our Champions League match against Lyon last night but the right back believes that he'll be back in time for the match against ManU on Sunday, as he explained to skysports.com:

'It is a lot better today, I think I will be alright for Sunday.

'We haven't tested it today, just soft tissue work and massage, but it seems a lot freer than it did yesterday.'

After already losing Fernando Torres for the Lyon match (as we had Sunderland) and Stevie Gerrard only lasting 20 minutes on his return the loss of Johnson was also felt, however Martin Kelly gave a good account of himself on his Reds debut before he also got injured! The England international isn't sure if Stevie will be fit for Sunday but does think that Fernando will be though, and either one of those retuning, along with Glen, will be a boost and we need as many of those boosts as we can at the moment.

Liverpoolfc.tv has confirmed that Stevie and Fernando are continuing to undergo intensive treatment in the hope of getting them fit for the potential make or break match against ManU.

We really need our CM to step up in this game.  We'll get humiliated if they go missing again.

1-0 us...

Well at least in these dark times you made the effort with a great starting post for what is probably the most important game we have played this season

Amen brother  :D

It only takes 10 fuckin minutes to put up some stats.

This game is being played on the same day as the Battle of Agincourt -
let's hope we can have a similar victory when the odds are stacked against us.

If both torres and gerrard are fit i'd feel much better if we reverted to the 4-4-2 . Everybody knows vidic can't handle pacey players , put torres and babel up there. Worse case scenario we lose like i predicted .

                                                Reina

Johnson                          Agger                Skrtel                  Aurelio

Kuyt                              Masch                 Gerrard               Yossi

                                    Torres                  Babel

If we play this team i can see us being tight as a unit and at least getting a point , we are bound to concede , we can't buy a clean :censored: at the moment

I really think we will do them. 2-1 or 3-1.

Its going to be a game to remember. But it will not solve our problems, just make us fans a little happier.

Big game specialists we are, sustained performance... I thought we had it.. but that was last season..

if we win the match aganist man u..will win CL & epl..in your dream or video game but in the real world that's impossible..with those players i think FA cup is the best choice..sorry but it's our best..with only 2 players all the season(gerrard torres)..when they injured we get lost

Despite everything that's been going on, if we have Torres, Gerrard and Johnson fit, I actually quite fancy us to win this strangely enough. That may seem absolutely mad but I said before Suderland that I was more wooried about that game than this one and I stand by that. If our players can't get up for the biggest game of the season and play their way out of their malaise in this game then they never will. I also don't think United are exactly pulling down any trees at the moment despite getting the results.

As said below though, even if we do win it doesn't mean the crisis is over, it merely instills some confidence for the games coming up. It won't get any easier as we've got Arsenal, Fulham, Man City and Everton coming up in the next month or so.

I look forward to Vidic's mandatory sending off. :D

Going to be a very tough game, with or without our top players.
Im prety sure we will conceed, with our defence being very shaky at the moment. But i predict a 2-1 win with Benayoun grabbing both.

Last time we lost two in our group in the Champs League we went on to win it.

I think Torres and Stevie are going to play on Sunday - I think Rafa might of tried to play mind games with the big nose Jock for this one.

I would go with a solid 4-4-2 for this game. We can't afford to let Lucas have any lapses in concentration and let them go through the middle.

Reina

Johnson Carragher Agger Aurelio

Benayoun Stevie Mascherano Babel

Torres Kuyt
