There's no way in hell we can rely on him if Torres gets injured

Agreed....We need a top stricker surely

fck that... I thought Ngog was excellent... Missed an easy chance early on but worked hard after that and deserved his goal and assist... Lets not blame him for everything here.. Kid got a goal and assist and seems to be taking the chance the manager gave him pretty well... I expect him to add another ....

Great movement from all our attacking players... Poor opposition or not, the change in our side's footballing philosophy and approach is obvious imo..

put torres in for n'goh and find a decent holding midfielder we have an extremely elegant team!

Yes we do need another striker of a high quality but lets give him a bit of credit for tonight so far

I think N'Gog's done well, fecks sake what do people want :D I actually think we are doing pretty well against a very poor team. Some nice fluency. All we need now is the crowd getting behind the manager and it'll be a good night.

Yea, to be fair, although hes missed a sitter and fluffed a cross to Gerrard his tenacity has been good tonight, has reminded me of Kuyt, runs a round a lot and every now and then something comes off for him :)

Yes it's fairly clear we are looking to be more expansive and inventive . I like Gerrard in this more withdrawn role too. I must say, two players who I've slagged in the past, Lucas and N'Gog have both played well.

It must be the first time I can remember a new manager at any club though not get a single song sung in his honour at the first home game (unless I've missed it). A real shame that is.

good shout for n'gog - he's still young and looks way better than last preseason/season.

Mick give it a rest will you . You dont half come up with some stupid statements but slating the crowd for not singing the managers name must be up near the top.

It's not a big issue Benny, there's no need to get all uppity about it. It's just that any new manager or player normally gets the full backing of the crowd. If there has been any welcome stuff for Roy then I haven't heard it, mind you I did miss the build up.

Like I say though, no need to get anyones knickers in a twist over it.

Its unreal it really is - we are playing some nice stuff in a easy game with some pretty nice stuff and yet people slating our goalscoring and the guy who won the penalty and someone complaining that the crowd has sung a song about the manager - jesus what will happen when we loose .
