LIVERPOOL v leicester Fri 30th Dec 8.00pm

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby woof woof ! » Sat Dec 31, 2022 11:56 am

A number of players were far from their best last night, Henderson in particular. Robertson also under performed so much so that I was shouting for Tsimikas to come on well before Robbo's injury.  Love the fella lets face it when it come to shooting he (Robbo) couldn't hit a cows a*se with a banjo.
Talking of shots on target. Nunez  :lookaround    I saw this stat today
Among the players in Europe's top 10 leagues with 500 or more minutes played this season, Nunez ranks first for shots per 90 minutes (6.0), but 99th for goals per 90 minutes (0.57).  :(

Not playing well at all but at least we're getting the points. There's obviously big problems that need addressing, the midfield in particular, but one or two good signings could change everything, we just need to try to hold on at least to a CL spot until we have a chance to fix things.

Yes Hendo’s distribution was awful. I like Matip but he does get panicky when we get under a bit of pressure.

Just looks slow and off the pace. Probably carrying an injury.

He is such a coach’s player, maybe Klopp told him to play like ***** to encourage the owners to buy a midfielder   :grinning:

Hendo is well past it and struggles to get a foot in the game. In his pomp he was able to keep pace with the play around him but not anymore. He is a space player imo who doesn't get into the physical stuff but will make angles etc so he can be an option. When we don't have the ball it only takes one pass or a turn of pace and he is chasing the play.  If Elliot starts alongside him then our midfield becomes too passive and easy to.play through.

Matip is quality and will improve as his fitness gets better but he is 32 and therefore not the player he was. Konate would be starting ahead of him if it were up to me.

Even though that was our 4th league win on the bounce and has us 2 pts off 4th it still feels shitty. We really don't look to have found the solution over the break to our poor form. I was hoping after the rest Mo had he would be on fire but he just looks the same.

I thought he was playing poorly watching the game last night but seeing that condensed makes it even worse.

Fabinho was missing which didn’t help but eff me it’s hard work watching a game when you know you can concede at any minute. One ball over the top is all it takes these days and we are all over the shop at the back.

Had we beaten Leeds and Forrest we would've only been 2 points behind City. Arsenal are looking good so far, they have got a solid unit working together. From top sides apart from United it would be good to see someone else wining the title instead of City. However, I just can't stand Arsenal fans, especially their infamous fan channel on Youtube.

Glad Newcastle dropped points today, help us in hunt for a UCL spot.

True, if we win every match to the end we will win the title. It’s just about getting our act together.

We aren’t winning every game between now and the end of the season with our MF and defence, not unless something dramatic happens this month.
Btw what ever happened to that Arthur who we got on loan from Juventus? He signed on the first of September and it’s now the 1st of January, he’s been here 4 months and I don’t think he’s kicked a ball in anger for us. Wasn’t he highly rated at one point? Maybe he’s the answer.
