Are you sure Ali only misses one game LIP ?? Was Ali’s handball regarded as a professional foul?

Yes - for a red card for deliberate handball it’s a one game ban , three game ban only for red card for violent conduct etc

He doesn't miss the derby on Wednesday either, it will be next Saturdays game away at Bournemouth that he'll miss.

Why won’t he miss the derby ?

His one game ban is the derby

I seem to recall that we've had players sent off before and they've played in the next match a few days later, the ban's always seem to take a week to kick in for some reason.

Pretty sure suspensions as a result of red cards have always been immediate.

Once again we turn a comfortable position into a needless panic towards the end. Alisson did what he did on instinct, there was no need whatsoever when we were 2-0 up but c'est la vie, thank goodness it's only a one game ban. Matip being out for longer is a greater worry as Lovren looked dodgy again last night.... Mo was running round looking busy but little threat and Origi once on just chased shadows. Imagine if one of the front 3 was out for 6 weeks....

BUT 40 points out of 42... it's insane!!  IMHO I'd throw the League Cup, throw this Qatar stupidity and simply focus on the league. It's being waved in front of our noses and it's up to us to decide whether we want it. All focus now on the league, make no mistake, the other clubs will come back at us.

That might be when the card is appealed

I think it is fair enough to suggest that free kicks, in order to help the game flow, should be taken quickly but considering it was cold, the replacing keeper needed to warm up quickly and then set his wall up I thought the ref should have given more time. That was not the time to allow a quickly taken free kick as there was a gap in play anyway.  It was a c.unt move from a ref that always seems to make c.unt moves with us. Too many times this season he hurt us and I’m sure Klopp knows this judging by how he was venting to the fourth official.

The first paragraph of the following link clarifies any confusion:

Yeah possibly, or maybe the next match was a European game or something where the card didn't count, I just seem to remember it happening.
