Gerrard is the life and heart of LFC , not torres , . No disrespect meant to carragher who pratically would kill for this club . He is the unsung hero but  I've lost couns the amount of times that gerrard has dug us out of ditches . Gerrard can never be replaced by no amount of money . Fact .

If we were to sell now, sell Torres. But if it were in a few years, sell Gerrard. Not that he's no longer useful, but he wouldn't have many years of football left in him.

I cant pick between the two as they both compliment each other brilliantly so I would choose neither. Sell the rest ! (of course keep carra !)

It would boil down to which position we could cover without the respective parties and that for me would be midfield since Voronin, Kuyt and Crouch managed about as many goals between them as Torres on his own. Saying that Gerrard himself scored plenty but in an advanced role so toughie but that's how I would choose.

Perhaps therein lies the answer............................ Keep an asset people wouldn't pay £50m and sell one people would or vice versa, ask yourself which is in greater demand.

And isn't SG nearing 30? Must be well past mid 20s

He turned 28 very recently.

Torres has more years ahead of him, may well have a good season next season and we've craved a Torres since Fowler and then Owen departed.

And don't be too surprised if we couldn't get over £30m for Gerrard, Chelsea want him badly and so do other clubs. We can dictate terms in that deal like we could with Torres, getting a club to part with a striker as good as Torres would take some doing
