all the numbers G&H gave at the time added up,there prfile looked good.......untill you asked the fans they were told stuff that have never happened, dont forget he has done this to the yanks before but you dont see that on paper or in the books.
all our owners saw at the time was a good plan from to yanks that have a lot of money and a good profile.

they did not know that there books looked good as they have never done anything but take take take.

Peter Hill-Wood has admitted that Arsenal could be a target for the Middle East invasion of the Premier League.

Arsenal were on the list of Abu Dhabi-based Dr Sulaiman al Fahim before he opted to invest £210million in the takeover of Manchester City.

But other financially-powerful Middle East families like the Makhtoums are keen to move into English football and Arsenal will once again be examined.

The Arsenal chairman said: "If somebody came and made a really huge bid then you cannot recommend shareholders turn it down because we don't like it.

"We want the club the stay in its current ownership and, of course, you have some concern that someone will try to buy the club.

"The directors don't want to sell but we are a public company. It depends on the price."

The Arsenal board have agreed on a lock-down arrangement until 2012 - largely to fend off interest from Uzbek billionaire Alisher Usmanov's Red and White Holdings company.

Arsenal is currently valued in excess of £300million with shares being traded at £8,200 each.

Why not just stick a big sign on the Emirates Stadium saying BUY US!
Shameless advertising that statement! :D

Maybe they are thinking better to be owned by an Arab than a Russian? Maybe they are right, I dunno...... Arsenal have their own problems as well.

Like what? Having a team that can play anyone of the park away from home? Or a new stadium? I wish we had that problem.

If they sold Torres Getting killed will be least of there problems let me tell you it wouldn't be good for them in a buisness sense.

Papers are running out of "who`s next" storys so now there just making them up.
The fact that neither side (H&G and DIC) are talking to the press has to be a good thing, its shows somethings going on IMO, i mean come on as soon as they said that the stadium plans are on hold they might as well of said we`re skint, there is no chance the banks are going to keep lending them more and more money every season and their not stupid enough to watch there "investment" shrink, which it will if they stick around.

Agreed mate, the banks will look at the lack of stadium and think we cant lend them money, the pairs position is unsustainable now even if they are stubbirn about selling, as money talks and they will be forced to sell on by the banks.

DIC look like they have a proper plan in place, even if they sell on in 7-8 years which they said they will do atleast we will be in a position to sustain ourselves financially with a new stadium and hopefully new found success!

I am sorry to be the vessell of doom, however, UNTIL Hicks & Gillette fail to meet interest/capital repayments then there is not much chance of the banks pulling the plug.

Think about it it we're LFC and there is serious money coming into the Premier league.

Why would RBS pull the plug when they are making so much money and there outlay is cast iron guaranteed safe....

As much as my heart tells me we will be ok my head says different.

Moores & Parry rot in hell for what you have done to our fabulous club.

I'm writing this with tears in my eyes as I for one hate to see what those two fat, stupid, Yankee Tw@ts have allowed to happen over the last 12 months.

:no

Thats the sad truth

very happy to say you are wrong

RBS need to show the Hicks can make money to be able to give him more if not this come under bad lending

As it stands right now Hicks is only just making money on some of his outlays.

Hicks would been seen as to high risk to give any more loans by most banks.

Dont forget that the world is in a credit crunch due to too much bad lending.

Agreed Banks don't look at buisnesses making repayments they look at 3-5 year forcasts it's different to personal loans they need to know if they can reply this loan of for the full term not month to month.

This is why they are having reviews every 6-12 months bcos the bank are lets say cr.aping there selfs last thing they want is to shut down a club like liverpool to repay the loan as it will only bring them bad press , which is in turn bad for them buisness wise.

I can see them taking hicks to court soon if he A. doesn't get the backing to keep loan active or B. sells to some one who can keep the debts floating or pay them off all together.

Way buisness loans work is say I take a club loan in normal market of 100 million.

100 million over 15 years at 12% rate

Now in normal market you be looking at a 5 year forecast of about inflation of 5-7%.

But atm with a credit crunch the inflation is around 1-2% so any loan taken before this is going to be harder to pay of due to profits are going to fall.

So a club making a turnover of 200 million would normaly make a profit of say 50 million but atm that profit might be close to 10-15 million or maybe if market gets worse could even be a lose of 10-20 million.

So this is why banks are stressing they think where is the money comming from.

I know for fact Hicks don't have assists to surport his loans so he has to sell he just has to unless he gets another 500 mil in backing.

Lads, being bought out by DIC, a Russian, AbuDhabi or an Indian billionaire is a poisoned chalice. Debt will be incurred which will be non-sustainable outside of the owners philanthropy.

We´ve seen the housing crisis which was due an unsustainable rising housing market, we´ve seen oil prices boom because of speculators running it up - now we´re going to see club debts run up because of  unsustainable business plans which INEVITABLY will lead to the ruin of 'some' of the clubs involved. All that shines is not gold.

At least we´re unlikely to go bust under H&G.

I disagree, I see this as being very likely to happen. If Man City offer anything near to £40 million then Torres will be sold in January, unless we have new owners by then. BTW Why does everyone keep referring to them as the two yanks, Gillet is Canadian isn't he?

The club will be sold by then or we are fu.cked simple as.

But i can't see the club in there hands by this time the market will drop even more soon and they won't be able to handle it.  :nod

Reg are you mad we are more likely to go bust under G&H just bcos of there borrowing.

I am sure if we was bought out by DIC or any other rich person they first plan would be to clear the debt as rich people hate debt.

It makes them look poorer then they are and i am sure they would clear it invest so it was a real buisness and could manage its own costs.

If DIC buy us exspect us to have close to 700 million invested.

I exspect a new stadium.
Hotels.
Bars and clubs.
Area redevelopment.
Buisness parks.
Might even see more heavy investment into none LFC club instrests.

Its in there nature to do things big they don't do things in halfs.

I am sure them buying football clubs is only a small part of what they want to do I think they want a bigger part of the english economy as a whole.

To be honest i'm fast getting to the point where i lose interest altogether in club football. All it seems to be about at the moment is who's buying which clubs, how much they've got etc. It just seems so random and unfair, nothing to do with how the clubs got there. Its like Chelsea were the first name pulled out of a box or something, then Man City. I suppose we picked a black ball out of the box lol! Teams like us and forgive me but Man U got to the top from winning not through how much there owner invests. Even if DIC do take us over it just won't feel right somehow.

Im sure you will feel better when we are able to secure the services of our 1st choice targets instead of unknowns who are not even listed on football managerhehe.

Maybe I am going mad yes, but I´m still to see how Chelsea have made a penny in the last 5 years either paying off the interest on the mega-dosh RA has put into the club nevermind paying back the capital loan. In my simple world, if someone lends you XYZ it has to be repaid, not allowed to grow only bigger on an annual basis as more cash is called for.

Man Utd book a profit and demonstrate that a slow and gradual build up creates a sustainable business where spending is met by income. Our marketing department of course nned a rocket up the harris to create the opportunities ManUtd have identified and turned into hard cash.

I dont think a sugardaddy coming in building a new stadium, hotel etc.. as you describe is our way forward. Lets get the right backer and grow our business in an orderly manner not throwing fate to the wind and spending what we cant cover. At the end of the day when these megarich corporations and individuals get tired of football they´re going to walk away and the club will have to cover their debt requirements alone. Thats what the last 18 months have taught me, whats going to happen once its all over, not just during their ownership - look at the debt H&G have saddled us with - with no stadium to show.

I agree reg but who to say DIC are going to do a chavski they are pure buisness men and I feel they will do what is right for there investment and the club.

I think they will inprove the marketing , infrastructure and fan base and squad.

I really am not worried about us turning into a chavski one little bit.

Tbh even if we did the club won't lose out yes we might have exspensive squad and all that but the owners won't want to leave so whats problem and even if they did there is always another billionaire who has unlimited funds who loves football.

Only thing you need to worrie about Reg tbh is if they will sell before Jan comes for I fear only we could lose torres.

Also about debts wouldn't worrie about that i have good idea they will pay those off so they don't lose money on intrest payments.

Morale of story is tho don't stress about long term future who knows what is round the corner.
