If this was the case then everyone else who wanted to circumvent the sale process would have done this. Peter Lim only a couple of days ago could have just said - "here you go Tom, here is the money, you pay the loan and then sign the club over to me".
Only the Board can decide who the shares are sold to and the fact remains that the Board is committed to selling to NESV.

The new owner would have to keep a provision in his books for such an event which could - quite likely - affect our ability to finance the new stadium.
