Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Does anyone knows financially and realistically, how long can we maintain in the current state? If they don't have the money to repay the debt, what will happened? The point is would there be any deadline if something don't happen by a certain date, then they will be no longer in charge and would the club end up in the hands of a custodian?

We'd go into Administration.  And all our assets would be sold etc.
Administration basically means administrators take over day to day operations and there goal is to make the company financially sound again by all means possible.

Selling Gerrard and Torres would bring in lots of money and cut back on the wage bill.

By the way, we're already unofficially in administration.  MB is our administrator with a fancy title.

We are really in deep sh.it. The two Tw@ts will hold out as long as they could. The potential buyer will wait till they get the best deal. By the time everything is done, it will be too late as we will be leaving with players like Ngog and Degen....That's a really scary thought...

If we sell Torres and Gerrard then we have to accept the reality of being a spent force, there wont be a title challenge for a number of years and any incoming manager would be a babysitter waiting for better times and the new stadium... you dont think we´d sell Torres to build a new stadium would you?

I don't know how this works, but would RBS not force G&H to sell if they could not service the debt??

If there are interested parties who would buy at a reasonable valuation, then RBS may well be able to them to take such an offer to repay the debt, and have someone else take over the club.

I have heard that £40m in interest is due in September.  I really hope that doesn't get paid from a Torres transfer fee!!

if we sell Nando it wont be for a stadium, more likely to settle debts for 12 months.....  :(
Stu Averill, a wannabe Scouse/Scot. I remember the good times & have faith in them comin back

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road

Purslow and Broughton are two bankers. We're practically under administration now with those two here and the only reason they are here is to recoup that debt for RBS. Rafa already fended off the likes of Chelsea and City with their massive bids for Fernando. I'm seriously now fearful that the first big bid that comes in for the player, and if it comes from the likes of Barca, then I think he's gone.

from SOS
Tom, George, and the Two Bankers - Go Now!
Thursday 3rd June 2010

Tonight's spontaneous protest by hundreds of fans at Anfield, organised by those angry at recent events at LFC, shows just how far our great club has fallen under the reign of Tom Hicks, George Gillett and our current board. They have all continually lied to us, broken promises, acted in their own self interests and treated this football club as either a cash cow to milk for all it's worth or a vanity project of their own.

"Tonight's spontaneous" er bit of a lie there? ???

we have known it was going to happen all week, there was nothing  spontaneous about it......dont fall into the media spin game SOS.

Just throwing this out there.
There is a supposed ITK on another forum who spoke about Rafa's severance package a couple of weeks ago and he got it right. He has taken a lot of flak off loads of others but he keeps coming back with stuff. This is the latest. Probably more :censored: but let's see.

"The board's roles haven't changed, Purslow is still liaising with the known investors and Broughton is there a part-time figurehead - to close any deals. However, as Chairman he had to be involved with Rafa leaving, signing the statement etc.

Hicks and Gillett don't have anything to do with the club, yes they 'own' it but the bank owns them! They are effectively locked out, so no, there can't be a fire sale of our best players. Unless, the players want to leave that is.

Purslow, is also involved with looking for a new manager, in addition to liaising with the investors. Don't be fooled though, he and Kenny aren't looking too hard! They know who's coming in... This has been highly planned. Purslow, is really keeping the sponsors calm and Ayre is doing his bit too.

The investors (both of them) wanted Rafa out before they come in. So the slate is clean and they will avoid any bad press. Yes, it was acceptable to all the investors that Rafa left.

The club will be sold in a 'range' between £450 and £590m. That's a huge variance but the bottom figure is agreed by RBS and Barclays as the 'actual' value of the club. Although both expect the 2 investors to cap out at the £590. Sadly for Hicks and Gillett, they will not get anywhere near £800m.

It's really fluid and really exciting and things are all in hand. You'd be rather daft to think this hasn't been quite carefully planned! "

Bav last night you posted this and i was not sure what to make of it, but just beenover my mates and he has told be the same thing, RBS are to set the club sale price.

Hicks is locked of the clubs accounts (this means any spending is done by the board now)

Purslow has been in talk with a buyer, as yet unknown but the talks have been going on for the last 2 weeks.

Rafa going and the sale of the club has no link as far as he knows.

Bankes in London do not feel that it is DIC but there has been talk of another american company that would like to buy the club.
