looking at our full squad are we a bit short of numbers?

IF ALL OF THESE PLAYERS WERE FIT ITS NOT TO BAD, BUT IF WE HAVE ANYTHING LIKE THE INJURIES WE HAD LAST YEAR WE MIGHT STRUGGLE I KNOW WE HAVE INVESTED IN SOME YOUNG PLAYERS WITH OBVIOUS TALENT BUT WE MIGHT JUST HAVE TO PUT THEM IN A LITTLE BIT SOONER THAN EXPECTED.
I FEEL THE LIKES OF MELLOR,,DIOA,CHEYROU,AND POSSIBLY LE TALLAC AND KIRKLAND HAVE TO GO IN JAN OR THE SUMMER, AND HOPEFULLY WE CAN HAVE A LITTLE BIT MORE LUCK IN THE TRANSFER MARKET TO IMPROVE THE SQUAD, THIS IS NOT ME SLAGGING THE TEAM AS I FEEL WE DO WELL THIS YEAR BUT JUST SOMETHING I THOUGHT ABOUT WHEN LOOKING AT OUR SQUAD,  ANY THOUGHTS APART FROM YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT

you dont know what your talking about! Joking. I dont think were short on numbers like you say we are cause from who you've listed, thats a squad of 25 players which is enough and then we've got the young guns.

you are forgetting that different players can cover more than one position, for example-

The thing is, if the summer had been quiet, and then Sissoko, Reina, Zenden and Crouch all arrived this week, nobody would be complaining even though the squad would be exactly the same as it is now.

Been away for a bit and it's the first time I've looked on the forum for ages. My take on the subject which by and large is dominating all the threads?
It's hard to make a case that by not signing anybody at all towards the end of the window (with the greatest respect to the two young lads we picked up) that we have improved our postion in comparison to Spurs and Everton. Jenas in particular is a fantastic signing in my view and cheap for what they paid too. It's not the end of the World for sure. We have signed a goalkeeper who for what we have paid had better be pretty good. Sissoko looks like he'll make a player and Crouch almost deserves to work out if for no other reason than the bravery of the unnoposed and expensive signing.
We have though lost some ground on our immediate challengers in my view and to pretend otherwise is just being plain silly.

I think Jenas is overrated if I'm honest. I've seen him play and he isn't good as people make out. A hyped up young English player.

Tottenham have mostly signed central-midfielders but they can only play 2 or 3 at the time. Do they really need 8 central midfielders?

They've made descent signings but I'm not going to get caught in this whole "Tottenham" hype that seems to be going around.

looks like a pretty good squad on paper, would of looked stronger with a right winger and a centre back. oh well, rafa won the european cup with less!

btw, kirkland can't be recalled. its in his contract. its not like we need him though, with carson, reina and dudek!

In all honestly, I think the club is great and I think the only thing we are starving for is a center back, Flo Po looks like he will be a tight winger and I am sure we are going to be safe in this position (right wing that is). I think our midfeild is going to be fantastic now that all the speculation is over and the lads can get down to some real football, I am kind of hoping Morientes picks it up, it doesn't do much for players confidence to have someone like him on the pitch week in and week out doing nothing, yet still ahead of you, and Cisse really deserves a spot. I think another name in the midfeild, is just another class name on the bench, which we certainly don't need, the club can only get better, they just have to pick it up. Hyypia looks dodgy every once and a while, other then that, we are set.
