Exactly I shudder at the  thought of Liverpool playing that style of football ,when robbed of their one real attacking threat (Ashley Young ) ONeill's side are an ugly one dimensional irksome obstacle not akin to Blackburn under Allardyce

I'm not Rafas biggest fan, but I've never understood the fascination with MON
Would never want him at Anfield  :no

well, MON has maybe one fifth of our budget.

He plucked A.Young and Agnobhor (Sp) from the youth.
He has losed his captain to us last season (unsettled) and mancity this season.
He bought Milner, B.Frader, Reo-coker and Carew on the cheap.

So if Rafa is managing Aston instead, do you think they will be challenging for a place in champs league or fighting for relegation? :eyebrow

MON is not big enough for Liverpool. Like Mclaren as England manager. The England team cared not for Mclaren or his ways and it showed. The players are not bigger than Benitez and he has control over them.

Btw Lucas had a good game for once i see.

With all the Euphoria that hit us after the Villa match ,i was reminded how bad Rafa is doing while following Manure and Assnail games ,all the new names they are featuring look so promising and talented compared to ours ,the system they are running there is working all the time, While Rafa is battling desperately to get his 22mil signing fit for action they are bringing players for the next decade ,that is the main reason Rafa should bid us farewell at the end of this season - he offers us no continuity no prospect no system which can lead us onwards - 5 years later Liverpool under Rafa has no solid foundation - that's failure in my book.

I think at this stage all complaints over lucas should be directed to Rafa ,he is the man in charge he picked him he believes in him he is responsible.

When we look back on this year ,the main question that should be asked is how can you place in the most important position in the field a young limited player?

I'v had a read thru alotta th posts in this thread an as yet aint seen 1 that actually puts forward a genuine, possible, feasible, unda th circumstances (owners, money, contracts, pay-offs etc) way forward/idea that wud benefit th club. Liverpool FC - like it or not - is in a dire situation financially. Mayb not as bad as Pompey, but then not as good as some 'lesser' teams neitha. As we head into 2010 has any1 got a way forward that mite, jus mite, work? or are we all one dimensional "sack Rafa but can sum1 then giv us an ansa plz" type of posters?

I'll openly admit to likin th man, i got no problem wi ppl not likin that eitha. what i do hav a problem with is pushin th guy thru th door without a carefully thort thru plan as a way forward. we CANT AFFORD to pay th guy off, his backroom staff, a new manager's demands, build a stadium etc so where do we go? Unless Rafa falls on his sword (an wud u when u'v got a 20 mill contract in ur arse pocket guys?) we are where we are. As th meerkat says - seeemples.
Stu Averill, a wannabe Scouse/Scot. I remember the good times & have faith in them comin back

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road
