I think the lad reached a point where he just didn't give a shite any more.

A move away is the best for everyone concerned, most of all Ryan Babel, who'll just rot at this club.

To be fair he did no better under Roy.

The thing is he isnt a winger.
I have said this loads of time but in Holland he played in a 3 out wide, that is completely different to being wide of a 4 or 5.
In a 3 man attack 4-3-3 he is more infield and would get the ball in areas where he can get shots of early.
The system would have suited Kuyt as well.
We should have been playing it for years we have the players that are used to it.

Having said that if we are not going to play it then we might as well get rid, the fee probably should be higher but after years of underachieving thats what happens.
Time to get rid try someone else and move on.

True. But Roy's methods were just extentions of the former gaffer's. The rot had set in long before Roy got to Anfield.

And as I said, I think Babel had reached point where he just didn't care anymore. That point didn't come in Roy's tenure.

On the 433 thing, it probably would have suited him much better, as he's a forward, not a midfielder. But such an attacking formation was never going to be tried.

think he'll go as a part exchange in the Suarez transfer. I think the two clubs are still arguing over the transfer fee for Suarez tho, so might take a few more days.

No MH - the hoffenheim thing was off a few days back.  He didn't want to go there.  this is 'Ryan Babel' isn't going anywhere, not even Ajax!  That's what has me worried about the Suarez negotiations.  We'll see ...

Faarrrrrk

Does that mean he's going to sign a new contract then? He can't have more than a few years left surely.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.
