Never been a big fan, but at least he has the potential to beat a man, Maxi offers us nothing.
Problem is with Babel after a few seasons here it is still 'potential', I would give him a run in the team and then if he doesn't produce that's it.
He cannot do worse than what we have at the moment.

Babel should do find. I mean if he can at least present couple of good scoring chances by his typical cutting into middle and shoot, he had already outdone Maxi in all the games that he had played. We need speed as it will help tremendously creating space for others. That's why Maxi can't play on the Wing since the defenders just not going to get scared sh.it by him. I mean remember Cisse, he was lightning quick with not much skill but the opponents defender were scare the sh.it by him even though they know what he is going to do.

And now, there is no reason not to give Babel a chance. I mean Rafa is gone and it is cleanslate and maybe Roy dislike him since he rapped too much in training :D  but seriously, Babel present the only legitimate speed that we have. If he is on, he is a very dangerous player. I mean if all our winger are :censored:, at least Babel do have the occasional brilliance rather than slow and useless back pass.

Yes, that's what ive been saying.  He's not the most technically brilliant player in the world but he is fast as hell, he can go past defenders and he's got a powerful shot.  Give him a few games on the left and lets see how he does.

Shows how immature he is. The great players were consumed by football...... Kenny, Keegan, Shearer, MacDonald etc.. this guy acts like a kid in comparison and IMHO just digs his own hole deeper providing endless evidence his head isnt right for the job.

Really pleased with his performance on Thursday.  He not only got forward well but he tracked back a lot which is nice to see.  I would like to see him get a start against Man U now.  Ryan looks much more comfortable on the left than Jovanovic.

i think it would please most people on here if he was 'getting down' with rooney and gerrard outside training instead.

should have started instead of maxi today. granted, he can sometime become frustrating but equally he's one of the few players we have with the ability to create something out of nothing.
we've only won it 5 times

I would have started him instead of Maxi too. Maxi offered next to nothing so it's hard to see how Babel could have done worse, and at least he has a bit of explosion about his play. Babel probably isn't good enough and was a very poor buy for 11 million quid, but he IS good enough IMHO to get into our team more often than he does.

One of his "tweets" after the game on sunday was "sigh"

Not sure if that was aimed at his frustration for getting overlooked by Roy again, or the fact that he was devestated by our loss ! ! ! !

He probably is frustrated, with both Liverpool and himself, he was probably hoping that Roy taking the job may give him a fresh start, looks like Roy doesnt rate him either though.

Its a shame, he came here with much potential and i do think there is quality talent there....................its just very random

I was under the impression based on the managers regular outpourings to the media ,that Babel would be given a chance to force his way into the team under Roy's new regime
