Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby RED BEERGOGGLES » Sat Mar 19, 2016 1:24 pm

MINGOLET -8  His performance was more notable for his brilliant stop for the Lindgard header/ shoulder ,but he also commanded his area well against the mancs
CLYNE - 4 Worryingly fleeced
SAKHO - 9 Disproportionately magnificent !
LOVREN - 8 Done everything well ,showed the kind of composure that could cement his place in our back four.
MILNER - 7 Mr dependable wherever he plays.
CAN - 9 The lads going to be immense ,just gets more 'Ballack like'  with every game he plays.
HENDERSON - 7 One of his more purposeful performances this season ,but should be comfortably slotting from positions as perfect as that.
LALLANA - 7 Chased and ran and tackled with real intent ,not his most productive game in terms of chances created ,but never gave them time to pick a pass.
FIRMINO - 7 Similar to Lallana in respect to this game ,but the lad eats up the turf and  diligently defends from the front ,something  that bizarrely goes unseen.
COUTINHO - 8 For the genius of the goal ,and his run from midfield when he waltzed past the United defence with a real elegance ,other than that he was quiet
STURRIDGE -5 The something he's lacking is commitment ,he just seems unwilling to mirror the effort his team mates are affording the team.

Mignolet - 6.5 - like yakka pointed out, Mign was too hesitant for my liking. Good save for that Lindgard chance though
Clyne - 4 - thought he struggled all night
Lovren - 8 - not such a heroic display as Sakho but he was calm and composed, always at the right place at the right time, hardly put a foot wrong
Sakho - 8.5 - fantastic game, a very heroic display. Thought he was a bit rush and clumsy at times though tbh, but it never costed us
MIlner - 7 - up and down the field all night, he was never missing neither in defence nor attack, and did well considering the position he played in
Can - 7.5 - his physical presence is obvious and he covers a lot of ground as well. Couldn't cover for two midfielders though and our midfield was easily penetrated at times as a result
Henderson - 4 - poor game all around, got used to that recently. We had an obvious weakness in midfield at times and he was the reason
Lallana - 7 - covered a lot of ground and pressed the mancs hard, made them uncomfortable through the whole match
Coutinho - 8 - a somewhat quiet night and with a few notable mistakes that could have costed us, but gets a high rating for the ridiculous goal that got us through
Firmino - 6.5 - I thought he worked pretty hard, similar to Lallana
Sturridge - 5 - still not at his best. Hardly contributed to anything IMO

Subs:
Origi - 6.5
Allen - 6.5
Benteke - N/A

Newkit player of the month MARCH

Games:

Man City (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Man United (EL) (H)
Man United (EL) (A)
Southampton (A)

Candidate:                        Rating:                   Games played:

Dejan Lovren                         7.1                         5
Mamadou Sakho                     7.1                         4
Emre Can                               7.3                         5
Adam Lallana                         7.2                         5
Roberto Firmino                     7                            4

And the winner is..........    EMRE CAN… It was a close call between him and Lallana, but the kid totally deserved this one. He’s been an absolute beast this month in the middle of the pitch, and I expect him to only get better and better. With only 22 years of age, Emre Can has quite a promising future if he keeps this up.

Great work as always mate.
Agree about Can as well, I thought he had gone off the boil a bit at the end of last month but ever since that midweek home game against City where we bounced back from the disappointment of the Carling cup final he has been outstanding.

Liverpool V Spurs - EPL - Saturday 2nd April

Mignolet - 8.5 - his best game in a long time, I have been a huge critic of his, but played well today
Clyne - 7 - solid performance
Lovren - 9 - excellent performance, made a slight mistake, but we have a real talent here after all, my man of the match
Sakho - 5 - had one of his brain freeze games today
Moreno - 7 - actually felt he was ok today
Can - 6.5 - mixed bad, did some things really well but did others stupidly, that yellow card  :censored:
Henderson -5 - first half looked really good, 2nd half back to usual Hendo
Milner - 6 - ok
Lallana - 7 - did well, thought he should have had a penalty when Alli wrestled him down
Coutinho - 8.5 - took his goal really well, could have won us the game
Sturridge - 5 - uninterested, lethargic, weak, slow

Subs...

Allen - 5 - was average
Origi - 8 - love his effort, love the fact he gives 100% he may not be the most gifted but gives everything, if Sturridge had 50% of this lads work rate just imagine
Ibe - 5 -ok

Mignolet - 8 - As long as there isn't too many crosses and he doesn't have to use his feet, he is a great shot stopper.
Clyne - 6.5 - was ok
Lovren - 9 - if his head is right at the start of a game, he can perform like a top class cb
Sakho - 4 - never been a fan, and this game once again confirm his shortcomings
Moreno - 6 - Didn't make a fool of himself, a step forward
Can - 7 - the closest we have to a midfield general, not saying much
Henderson -5.5 - I expect better from our 100k/week captain
Milner - 6 - A milneresque performance
Lallana - 7 - lively as ususal. If only he had that little extra...
Coutinho - 8 - like this guy. Inconsistent both from game to game and in the games, but can produce stuff noone else in the team can.
Sturridge - 3 - just disgusted with him and tired of his lazy performances. Wait for all the excuses....

Subs...

Allen - 5 - rarely makes an impact
Origi - 7.5 - At least he cares and shows hunger
Ibe - 5 - not really enough time to show much

MINGOLET - 7 some good saves but still doesn't fill me with confidence, especially when the ball is at his feet or he has to make a decision
CLYNE - 7 did well defensively but panics a bit too much when closed down for my liking
LOVREN - 8.5 rolled by Kane for their goal but other than that he was majestic
SAKHO - 4 he's one of my favourite players but he had an absolute nightmare first half
MORENO - 7 decent performance
CAN - 7 was our best CM until the booking, seemed to fade a bit after that
HENDERSON - 6.5 worked hard and saved a certain goal with one particular piece of Herculean tracking back
MILNER - 5.5 thought he was a bit ineffective yesterday
LALLANA - 7.5 tidy on the ball and busy
COUTINHO - 8 should have a couple of assists to his name as well as the goal, quality player
STURRIDGE - 5 another of my favourite players but he looks well out of sorts ATM, given his body language when he is subbed it wouldn't surprise me if he was moved on in the summer. I can't see Jurgen being impressed with that.

Mignolet - 7 - had some good saves but had some silly moments as well, like when he tried to clear the ball and hit one of Spurs players and almost result in a goal against us.
Clyne - 6.5 - did well defensively
Lovren - 8 - could have done better with Kane's goal but otherwise a very mature, very composed performance. Had to babysit for Sakho the entire match
Sakho - 5 - wasn't that bad if you take the whole match into account TBH but he got us into an awkward situation like 3 or 4 times with stupid mistakes and just pure overconfidence. He needs to get that stuff out of his system because he does it often
Moreno - 6.5 - decent match both forward and defending
Can - 6 - no where near as good as last month's performances I thought. For a physical player he looked like a little kid compared to Dembele
Henderson - 6 - thought he wasn't as bad as he's been recently, but still one of the weak links in the team
Milner - 6
Lallana - 7 - thought he had a good game, kept himself busy all the time, our most active player for sure
Coutinho - 8 - good goal and was the a threat for Spurs the whole match
Sturridge - 5

Subs:
Origi - 6
Allen - N/A
Ibe - N/A
