Billy Davies, p!ssing Forest around, I'm sure there's others but I only have to name one so there you go :D

The point is managers are asked about all sorts everyday, there might be more that he has said and that it's just being taken out of context. Perhaps not, but either way I dont see the problems with his comments tbph
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

JFT 96 - Gone but never forgotten
YNWA 15/4/1989
God Bless You All

Oh and Billy Davies

As I said though, it's not the end of the world. Probably doesn't have to mention his future managerial ambitions and just concentrate on Liverpool.

He would take the Madrid job in heartbeat and is clearly pretty peeved at the thought of Mourhino being offered the post before him. Benitez likes to talk a lot when its about him or other managers but never gives the media anything about his teams performances on the park.Hes an odd one thats for sure but you get the impression that everything he does say is calculated. I just cant see him being given the chance in Madrid though so he will be better off putting his disappointment aside and working overtime to fix the trodden on and busted up subbeto team he put out on the park last year.

Got that right.  I think his comments on the Real Madrid job is border line desperation. I bet his desperate for Inter to lose on Saturday.

I expect him to say he is only thinking about Liverpool. He doesn't have to mention he'd love to manage Spain in 4 years or that Real are a special club. Obviously he would love either of jobs we all know that, but let's just concentrate on LFC for now. Saying nothing isn't going to hurt his future managerial ambitions surely? I'm not saying it's a big deal, but I don't see too many other managers making statements about their future away from their current clubs, Mourinho the exception. But his the biggest self promoting w.anker in the game.

I don't see anything wrong with what he said, whether or not what Rafa says is calculated is not something I can comment on, but we have to face facts that Rafa has four more years as Liverpool manager before he moves onto a new project, or at least that's the impression I got from his comments.

I get the same impression from his words.

Which doesn't mean the club will think the same thing. I'll support him if he stays, I'll support whoever comes if Rafa goes, as I think no matter who the manager is, he'll need support given the current club situation.

Look here, a lot of Rafa fans celebrating here.

Any wonder they are celebrating, Rafa is staying!  :buttrock   :D

The club might have other views on if he stays or not.

Oh :censored: off

Can we not have 1 page here without a dig at him or negative rumor?  :D

im not expecting Rafa to quit as the job he wanted at bernabau has been offered to Mourhinio. Hence Rafa's comments today in madrid...saying maureen wasnt the right man to manage real.

Don't expect any big incomings come summer, due to the state of the market and lack of big names available.

Even Man Utd with the 80m sat in the bank are not gonna land anyone big.

No one is available, so i'm expecting more of Lucas + N'gog/ elzahar next term.

we aint gonna get messi, or a "top drawer" player, and also I doubt Rafa can "juggle" with average talent to make us great. As he has proved he cannot.!

Gonna be some big bidding for torres but may as well keep him as you wont get a decent replacement.

That's because very few managers are hounded by the press about the future in quite the way our Rafa is.

Not an interview goes on without Rafa being questioned about where his future lies. When Hodgson was linked with us, he was asked about it. When Allerdyce was linked with West Ham, he was asked about it.

Rafa is linked with every top job, because he's a top manager, and therefore asked about those jobs by "journalists".

Ask yourselves this: "is it all a game?"
The soap opera "will he, wont he?" plot.
The "victim" Rafa. The villainous owners plotting behind the scenes. Us, on his side, booing these foreign (Rafa is scouse) baddies.
He deliberates, he looks to go and starts walking towards his new destiny. We gasp. Is he really Fu*king us off? After all weve been through? He stops, he looks at our weeping faces. He thinks of us. He declines other suitors. He cant let us down. He turns back and winks to us
Cue the drums: dum, dum dum, dum dum der der der der...
He loves us.
Thanks Rafa, we love you too...
