What could be more uplifting than seeing the Mancs drop out of Europe at this stage!

Whilst it was nice to see both mancs fall out of Europe, we are no closer to the CL so people need to stop dwelling on it. Utd at worst will finish 2nd and be in it again next season whilst we may not even finish with a Europa League place. We need wholesale changes in Jan imo if we are thinking about qualifying for next season else it's back to square one.

When you spend 100million (while recouping 60) the objective has to be 4th minimum.

You live or die by your signings... and assessing each one in descending order: the signing of Suarez is one of the best ever.. none of us truly knew he was this good (arguably the best creative striker in the world), so full marks to Kenny on this one. Enrique most of us knew was quality..and at the price we paid was an absolute steal. Charlie Adam is a very good player (not sure hes a title winning midfielder but definitely worthy of being in a midfield that gets into a CL place) and when given time his left foot can find a teammate anywhere on the field. Downing has been the biggest disappointment so far as he has undoubted quality, but for whatever reason hasn't yet shown it (some insiders from Villa have suggested he's not the strongest of characters so his head goes down rather easily)..i believe Kenny can get a tune out of him. Jordan Henderson is a player who has shown flashes of quality..still very early days in his development. Which leaves Andy Carroll..a baffling signing that neither has the quality nor the style to suit us. A fish out of water.

Remove Carroll and Henderson (53million).. and replace with Fernando Llorente and Javi Martinez (the fee paid wouldn't be far off similar)... and we would almost certainly be sitting in the top 4 right now. The top top forward is Roberto Soldado (Madrid really f**ked up on that one).. but god knows how much he would cost. Its all hindsight as Kenny went British.. i hope he looks towards La Liga when the next transfer window(s) come around as there is a plethora of technical players who suit the very style he implements. With the signings he has made so far i don't see us getting top 4.. with Suarez, Enrique and Adam being the three players good enough to get us there... but not the other three.

If cash is the constraint then more important to get all the lads on loan off the books (Cole, Aquaboy +10 others) and continue to reduce the squad getting rid of the chaff. There's no need to get rid of first teamers at this stage, lets be realistic.

The December xmas period will be a telling factor, usually this splits the men from the boys and I'm pretty confident we've got the squad to cope with a close run of games during this period. Well, all except up front. 4th is still a possibility but it won't be easy, realistically they're four teams fighting for two places, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal and us. The best side I think among that lot at the moment (and I hate to say it, because I can't stand their fans) is Tottenham. They've come along way IMO - I hope Stoke's win over them is the beginning of their faltering period - but they look a much more resilient oufit these days.

Really, we can only concentrate on what we do and how to win most of our games. For all the flack that Carroll has been getting (and most of it is fair enough) and Suarez to a lesser extent re our return of goals, the midfield IMO desperately need to up the anti chipping in with goals. Adam has done okay IMO and does assist, Henderson though and Downing especially need to start helping out our goal difference, it's not good enough JUST to rely on strikers to score, that's be the stand out recently between Maxi and his midfield colleagues. And on that alone, when the team is struggling to score Maxi should be considered more often than not. Also, if we were able to capitalize and score from the many corners we're getting, that'd be a massive bonus.

It may click - it may not, if it does we still have a realistic chance of getting 4th, if it doesn't we're more likely to finish 5th or 6th.

You need to stop playing Champ Manager !! Players like Llorente and Martinez would not of touched us because of the situation we found ourselves in !

it seem every one on tv today is saying that we will end up 6th or 7th.
I would love to say they are wrong but as we cant beat smaller clubs i think they have a good point, lets face it , the only way we can now move up the table is if the top 5 slip up.
