Perhaps I've been vindicated.

I wonder if those slagging Spurs feel any different about our respective chances this season?

I stated earlier that I thought you had no chance of a top 4 finish, and and I stand by it.

In my opinion, aside from Reina, Suarez, Gerrard, and the ever improving Lucas, there isn't a player in your squad, let alone first eleven, who is good enough for CL qualification.

Adam is a "one good game in 4" type.

Downing was watched by Spurs for years, but didn't meet the standard for a bid.

Carroll? Well, less said the better.

Next season Reds, hopefully.........

Spurs had a 25Million pound bid rejected for Carroll by Newcastle.

Anyway, one swallow doesn't make a summer - and the fat lady hasn't sung yet, don't get to fickle.

Do you really think Spurs bid on him?

Really?

Newcastle managed to rob you of £35m because they bullshitted you that other teams wanted him.

Spurs didn't want him, why would they?

He's :censored:.

No one else would have paid a joke amount like that for an unproven striker.

I guess desperation called.

I have seen newspapers with headlines "hand it over" to the skanks in january only for them to be pipped at the post come may.
I have seen newcastle be crowned champions in january only for them to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in may.
Let spurs have their moment...

Not too sure where to post this but overall this season im relatively happy with how things are going and how we're progressing.  It was always going to take a lot of time to gel with the amount of new signings we brought in but lately its starting to settle down a bit and Kenny is getting closer to finding his starting 11.

Kenny is also not afraid to make some big calls like benching Carra and Carroll and other players that arent performing.  Once again though, we find ourselves optimistic after playing two top teams with a run of winnable games coming up.

We really need to go on a run now and beat some of these teams to climb the table.  Might sound cliche but the next few games are really important as January is when we really start analyzing the table.

Still think we'll miss out on top 4 this season though, unless we sign 2 quality players that settle like Suarez did.

Top 2 places are 'reserved' for the 2 manc. clubs, I think not many will disagree. Not only do we have to gather as many wins as possible, we have to depend on Spurs, Chelsea, Newc, Arsenal to lose/drop points. As the season unfolds, it looks likely Spurs will finish 3rd. So it's looking like 4th will be a dog fight between Chelsea, Newc, Ars and us.

we only stand 4pts off 4th now and i wouldnt write us out of it yet because of that.
but one thing is clear,we cant afford any more slip ups.tonights game was below par and made us look poor.we seriously lack pace and will always struggle to counter teams.goals are becoming a serious problem and none of our strikers look confident atm.
we have only ourselves to blame for this mess!!

i still stand by my comments a few months ago. If Kenny doesn't get us a top 4 slot then he has to make way for someone who can.

Today was a f*&king disaster

Thats a very extreme view and i do not agree, under Kenny we have shown progress and we finally look like a team who can play attacking fluid football after over 10 years of mostly negative defensive football, theres a long way to go but i beleive Kenny needs a chance to get things right, ive personally been very disappointed with the huge amounts of money we have spent on mostly mediocre players but Kenny has got the fans united, brought stability and our football philosophy back. Personally i dont think we will make the top 4 this year as Man Utd, Man City, Tottenham and Chelsea have better squads than us, but remember how bad we were in Rafa's final year and under Hodgson? it will take a while to get a remedy for that, i think Kenny has done enough to merit more than one full season, he should get next year too.

"We are a work in progress" Does KK actually mean this or is he playing mind games?
If he does mean it why dont we believe him? Surely this talk of him going if we dont get 4th is foolish? Who will we get to replace him? Can they guarantee 4th with this current squad? Of course not. They will have to spend and bring new players in and they will have to settle etc etc.
I have high expectations but Im also realistic. We still havent found the right blend or balance. We are totally Fu*king useless at dead ball situations, and we are poor in front of goal. If these basic things are sorted we have a much better chance of progressing. But new players and new manager? It will set us back not push us forward
