The only way into the top 4 now is for us to wait for Tottenham, Chelsea & Arsenal to all fail.

Hate to say it but 6-7th is looking likely spot for us. Kenny will take the heat if that happens.

I don't think we'll finish in top 4 this season. Yes, many will ridicule my belief, because we're only in Dec. and it's still mathematically possible. But, think about it. Top 3 seats are almost confirmed for Man U, City and Spurs. Only the 4th spot is a fight to the death between Chel, Arsenal, NewC and us. Newcastle is still a dark horse to me, but based on current form and results, Chelsea and Arsenal are much better and consistent than us, Arsenal esp. who can win most of their home and away games.

The only thing that worries me is Kenny's job. I hope Henry is not an Abromovich and I hope to see Kenny finish his 3 year contract if he still has the passion for the job and to see him win the PL with us one last time under him to seal his legendary status in gold this time , forever.....

Thats a very extreme view and i do not agree, under Kenny we have shown progress and we finally look like a team who can play attacking fluid football after over 10 years of mostly negative defensive football, theres a long way to go but i beleive Kenny needs a chance to get things right, ive personally been very disappointed with the huge amounts of money we have spent on mostly mediocre players but Kenny has got the fans united, brought stability and our football philosophy back. Personally i dont think we will make the top 4 this year as Man Utd, Man City, Tottenham and Chelsea have better squads than us, but remember how bad we were in Rafa's final year and under Hodgson? it will take a while to get a remedy for that, i think Kenny has done enough to merit more than one full season, he should get next year too.

Top post mate, absolutely agree, we might not get CL place next year but Kenny deserves more than one season to build this team, and I'm very confident he will get things right

i think its very rash to be talking about canning kenny already.
he is doing well with us and has transformed us in just under a year.were playing better football than we have been in a long time and believe it or not were actually pleasing to watch sometimes.big change from previous seasons.
his job will never be decided by the fans.fsg have never come out and slagged or demanded anything from kenny so i would expect him to remain for at least another season.behind closed doors it could be a different story though and they might view it differently as they have spent a lot of money.failure to even compete for 4th place would be a disaster this season never mind being out of it at christmas.
imo kk isnt the problem its having way too many average players thats killing us.

Kinda contradictive saying KK isn't the problem but the avarage players we got ,considering he is the one that signed them....

I'm in no way for replacing Kenny ,i think he made reasonable purchases ,the problem is that all (apart from Enrique) are not preforming up to par. Adam ,Hendo and Downing should have been the engine of our team but all are struggling this year. As pretty much all our MF is underperforming ,our strikers suffer directly. I always thought our only chance of competing for a Champion league tickets relys on Gerrad having a great year ,his absence is proving a too big of an obstacle to climb.

The Team desperatly needs a leader and a Winner ,in Stevie absence non has emerged.

I think when we let Meireles and Aqua leave, the club took a bit of a gamble on Lucas staying fit and Gerrard returning to full fitness far earlier than now.  Now we're very short in that area.

Its a little bit unfair on Adam + Hendo as they've now been thrown in the deep end to sink or swim.  I actually think they're both doing a decent job so far.

i said it at the time that we shouldnt let both aqua and merieles leave especially since gerrard was always going to be a doubt for this season.
all of kennys signings with the exception of downing have done well for us.

im going to find a way of bottling hindsight, become a millionaire and buy a corporate box in anfield so they could hear me moan from the pitch

Aquilani didnt want to be in this country and Merieles wanted to be at Chelsea.

Commoli in his LFC TV interview said that both were told that they wouldnt be first team regulars

aqualani wanted to play football and it was liverpool who decided it wasnt to be in the uk not him.
the merieles situation was a joke,a couple of hours before the deadline he moves and were supposed to believe he secretly favoured chelsea over us.
both of those players were handled badly by the club and the reason they arent here is that they wer'nt wanted.

lets get some perspective here. 14 games in and we're 5 points off fourth. yesterday was our first loss since september. we aren't doing too much wrong apart from not taking our chances. i've seen signs of progression recently. our defence has been superb, adam has been playing really well (ok he wasn't great last night) and bellamy, maxi and suarez have shown signs of linking really well. i didn't think we were that bad last night if i'm honest. we had no luck whatsoever.

busy period coming up with a lot of games. i think i'll re-assess where we are at the start of the new year.

I've said before that our results have gone backwards compare to last season. So far we've played 14 games and  23 points. Last season under KK, 18 games 33 points. So now we have 4 more games to get 10 more points to maintain the status quo (from a mathematical perspective). And it will be a bit difficult.

So the question is, with more than 100 million spent, with KD back in charge, why are regressing? Personally my answer would be:

1. Suarez is now a marked man. Last season as an unknown, he was given the freedom, now he doesn't have the luxury. We're becoming a 1 man team and all teams know, "If you stop Suarez, you stop Liverpool"

2. Sad to say, but A.Carroll has halted Liverpool's progress. Just because we spent a record 35 million on him, KK needs to justify the cost by picking him in the starting lineup and his style does not fit into Liverpool's play.

3. Sh*ty luck, we're top of the league in terms of hitting the bl**dy woodwork.

4. Referees' decisions going against us. That bald Webb guy is yet to referee our games, scary thought.

5. We're still in a transition and KD seems to be picking the wrong players eg I feel he should give Maxi more 90 min games.

6. We signed too many mediocre overpriced midfielders and neglected signing quality strikers to compliment Suarez.

7. We're in dire need of a right wing man as well.

These are my reasons for our results going backwards. But on a positive note, our possession and play have improved tremendously and despite sitting in 7th place, all PL teams still respect us and are all afraid to play us esp. at Anfield where they just come to defend and will go home happy and celebrating with a draw. OPR will be doing the same this weekend and I'm curious whether we can break down their defensive wall or not.

Can I be the first to say commiserations to Sir Alex and his brave soldiers on their defeat and ultimate exit from the champions league
You may have knocked us off our Fu*king perch regarding the league but youve got a long way to go to do it in Europe
