"The English club prove miracles do exist" D.Maradona
"Theres not one club in the world so united with its fans. Liverpool fans sent shivers down my spine" J.Cruyff

Have you finished playing Football Manager ?

You can help Woof then by telling us which players turned down CL clubs to go to Non CL clubs .

There will be no Martinez quotes because we have never bid for him unless it's in your fairy tale .

But the overall message is we need CL - get that first step and then we can think about World Class players arriving

Yer know, even if we were in the CL alongside the Mancs I'm still not sure we would have got Jones, admittedly we may have stood a better chance but I still think that as a "home grown player" he probably grew up playing kick abouts in the street wearing a Manc shirt.

i reckon Coates is a steal

Mate I was f'ucking excited over this signing, I'm now getting anxious as to where it's going. OK the back four's been doing well, even Carra can't get a start but when are we actually gonna give Coates a chance to show us why we've signed him ? .

Coates is only 20 Woof and himself has admitted he is going to take at least a season to get used to the prem - he along with Carra will play in the FA Cup and CC . The two CB's are undroppable currently .

We won't see the best of Coates for at least another 12 months yet - no rush for the lad . He has done well the times he has played .

He's 21 not 20 Benni .

Has made just 3-4 (?) appearances so far.

Although I agree that the two CB's are currently "undroppable" I don't see how Coates is gonna develop if he's not given more first team experience.

Can only hope that your assertion  he'll be playing CC and FA cup will be enough to "bring him on"

Agree woof.

This is bad for Coates' development to be sat on the bench or playing reserve football at his stage.

The same could be said of Wilson.

Go and read what Coates has said - he has years ahead of , just training at the club will improve him - why the rush - plenty of time ahead of the lad .

Agger took over 6 months before playing regulary .

report

Coates is desperate for the opportunity to perform in front of a capacity home crowd.

“I have only played away from home so far and it would be very nice to play at Anfield,” Coates said.

Sounds like a fella who wants' to be involved sooner rather than later.

I also agree, I think Coates needs more game time in order to ''settle in'' or at least develop at this stage. CC and FA cup aren't enough, but I think later into the season we will see more of Coates

its a tricky one isn't it? wanted to have quality cover for each position, then worrying about them being happy not playing. i guess its even more tricky when its centre backs involved as once a pair begin to gel you really don't want to split them up. coates will get a few chances this season and in an ideal world, by next season agger will have proved an ability to stay fit and he will ease skrtel out of his place.

Did you read the rest of the report about him taking time to get used to the prem .

Why as fans now do we demand instant success or results and fail to be patient about players ! He is young new to this country and is going to take time so let's give it to him instead of starting to worry about just a couple of months .

I'm sorry but he is going to wait for his chance - and until then he will keep learning in training from Carra and the others . There is nothing to worry about and he himself seems pretty happy currently

well things have improved, we're now 3 points off a top 4 spot and, should we win our games over xmas, then i'd say we'll be sitting pretty come January.

however, is Suarez gets a heft ban, or injuries come into play, then that could all change.

but so far so good..

We have a decent run of fixtures coming up and, although there ae no easy games in the EPL, we should be looking to capitalise on our run of fixtures. We have a real opportunity to break into the top 4 over the festive period. If you look at the bench yesterday we have cover in almost all positions to cope with the hectic Xmas schedule. Gerrard coming back would be a massive bonus as well.
