We will not sell both of them this season , 1 maybe but never both , if that happens we can kiss the league goodbye for the next 2 seasons at least.

In recent years we lost quite a few of our key players and we moved on.... (ie...mcmanaman....owen...). So that will be the case with alonso and mascherano.

Maybe now its time to get more mobile central midfielders like xavi or iniesta .... i find alonso and mascherano too one dimensional sometimes (alonso not mobile enough...and mascherano not that good in attacking).

If both want to leave, let them. Leaving players that wanted to leave on the team is dangerous business. It will definitely disrupt the team chemistry. One thing that is constant even from hearsay around the media is that no one reported Rafa will sell them cheap. That means Rafa will play hard ball and we should get a reasonable sum. Who knows, when Owen left, we won the Champions league right after. If both leave, we might win the next two :D .

both wont leave .. alonso leaves and mascherano will stay by the looks of it ............. barcelona have a set midfield and mascherano would not join them for a bit -part role ....

as for alonso ... he will play either with RM or with us......... equally well.... as he is a model professional ..... and it's upto rafa whether he wants to cash in on him or not..... surely 30m pounds would be too good an offer to refuse.... rafa is a shrewd buisiness man ....and he would invest he money wisely . Ultimately we will only be selling (if we do ) only one of them .... and with the money we get (atleast 20-25 m) plus what we have in hand (another 10) we'll purchase a player for the final third and a CM .... We will challenge next season . COunt on it.

this would get much clearer once the pre-season starts in couple of weeks....

Any suggestions than mate ? After xavi and iniesta the only two i'd rather have are xabi and masch

I would take Essien in a heartbeat, but he's not going anywhere either.

We could make a cheeky bid for Fabregas, but I can't see much joy there either.

Looks like its Lucas and Spearing   :D

CM is one of the positions that I trust Rafa the most to find someone out of nowhere, with CB being the position I trust him the most in.

When you think about it though surly Rafa is not that stupid , he will almost certain have someone lined up in the pipeline , prepared for this, i just hope its allsorted sooner though rather that later , so we can put these options into place, an not at the last minute

Yeah ..... remember when the Alves deal fell through and we had to panic buy Pennant, paying about £3million over the odds?

The problem is Nanny that by the time these deals are sorted (if they go) everyone else will have finalised their transfer dealings leaving us with the option of paying over the odds for cr@p or gambling on some South American making the step up.

We need to hang onto one of them Nanny.
