Kenny Departs

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Half a season! The state we were in after Hodgson, Kenny deserves a f*cking medal just for recovering anything from that season. He answered a call for help and was rewarded with a contract.

yes... But the thing is that team last season under Kenny is so much more superior than the current team. That is the main criticism of Kenny.

Things take time. Even City weren't achieving when they made their first wave of purchases, you cannot buy team chemistry.

chemistry is something that has been lacking all season.they honestly dont look like they are even reading the same book never mind the same page.
we have way to much mediocre players and that was before we signed a bunch more last summer.
those players really need to up their game and start proving that they are worthy of playing for us.

Tactically for me Kenny has got it right more often than not - we've been creating enough chances in most games - but the players are not good enough. I think Kenny has to shoulder most of the blame for this because on the most part it's the players he's signed that have been letting us down. You can only expect players to give their best, you can't blame them for not being good enough or not suiting our tactics.

That said though, I have faith that Kenny will learn from his mistakes in the transfer market & make the right signings this summer. Despite our league standing showing we are well off the pace I don't actually think we're that far away from having a winning formula, a couple of changes could make the world of difference.

I would not be looking to get rid of Kenny at this point, but things definitely need to improve next season.

If KK wouldnt have done as good a job as he did last year and we would have finished 10th, this season wouldnt have been looked on by some as such a disaster.
KK's fault for getting us up to 6th

no some posted that he should go in the game thread, and it was not picked up, some made good points others made bad points but not many members got to see the posts.

lets face it 30% of members on here have not trust Kenny, thats says a lot more about our members, more than me making them show their real feelings on Kenny.

Hi All. New poster. be gentle.

In a word......Not neccesarily should kenny go. He has put faith in the players he has brought in, and some have not delivered.

Adam, Henderson, downing, carroll...sub-standard and not performed.

Bellamy, Suarez, Enrique........are good enough.

He just needs to change it around, bring Lucas back, and some new blood.

If we keep hitting the panic button and swapping the manager, we will have no stability.

4 wins at home only, compared to blackburns 5 is a little embarrasing tho.

Adios

Kenny is far too hostile towards the media, yes I can understand why because the media aren't nice, especially about Liverpool football club. Kenny played right into Shreeves' hands. He should have downplayed the incident by saying "I never saw it, I don't know what happened", "I'm only prepared to comment on the football match etc. That way people like Shreeves cannot fling any mud and websites like Skysports, Goal.com and newspapers like the Daily Mail cannot obtain any sensational headlines.

I voted No. We can't just get rid of the Manager every time we get a few bad results. It will get better, just watch. Kenny knows the Club inside out, and knows what is required. Given time, he will get thing working like clockwork.

Our fixtures in the league are as follows, Everton, Stoke, QPR, Wigan, Newcastle, Blackburn, Fulham, West Brom, Norwich, Chelsea and then Swansea.

All matches are winnable as far as I am concerned and I cannot see why we can't have a strong finish to the season.

I think it is imperative that Kenny brings in a creative player in the center of midfield and a striker or two that can finish consistently.

Players like Michael Owen and Fernando Torres would have thrived this season because we create so many chances per match, we just lack the killer touch.

they should bring aquilani back next season and pair him up with lucas in the centre. if we lose him on a free at the end of the season so be it, we`ll cross that bridge when we get to it. we need at least one winger that can go past players and chip in with goals, someone like that number 7 at napoli or robben.

I think the writing is on the wall regarding Aquilani, I reckon he'll sign for AC Milan and who can blame him? If I was him, I'd flat out refuse to return to Anfield.

Aquilani was arguably our best player in pre-season, there was no signs on the pitch that he was hankering for a move back to Italy. He looked committed to cementing a future for himself at Anfield, but wasn't in Kenny's plans. Meireles is another player we shouldn't have sold, people say he wanted to play with AVB (which may well have been true), but from what I was told it seemed Meireles wanted to stay and was promised a wage increase under the previous owners depending on his performances for Liverpool in his first season and this was not forthcoming under F.S.G. Also, there are rumours that Kenny didn't rate him and wanted him gone, but who knows. Either way both players are superior to Adam and would have offered more than Adam in the center of midfield.
