If gerrard goes, who would you buy to replace him?

obviously it will be very difficult to replace such a great player but if he goes i wouldnt mind seeing:

baraja
davids
parker

none of the above are better than gerrard but not many are, so we might just have to settle with any of the above.

who would you have to replace him?

All those players are pants, how can you replace one of the best midfielders in Europe with Simon Davies, are you having a laugh? If Gerrard goes we need to replace him with equivilant quality to mediocre players, this is the problem we had with Houllier

Ballack to replace and others to strengthen the right hand side unless you see Diouf coming good

Nedved is mint but he is about 30, Ballack is a great player but no where near Gerrards ability even though he is young.

I would love to see Davids at Anfield as a short term solution as he is getting on a bit but personally I think Gerrard is irreplaceable!  :(

I can see Chelsea needing to offloads a few access baggage. If (and a big IF) Gerrard join the Roman brigade, then they will have Lampard, Makelele, Deco, Parker, Cole, Duff, Geremi, Zenden plus whoever they bought in the off season. I can see Parker and Cole being asked to move, maybe even Duff. It would be good to have them but we still need a playmaker, for that I see Aimar fitting in. If we are really lucky, we could get Nedved but I can't see Juve letting him go.

I think Cheesie is right.  :D

Gerard is good, but not that good.

Am I the only person here who thought he had a second half stinker against France and was anonymous against Switzerland?

Pavel Nedved is currently the best midfielder in the world and Steven Gerrard has a long way to go to emulate him.
