Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby supersub » Thu Oct 09, 2003 11:44 pm

The game of football is in crisis, the players are totally estranged from the fans and the rest of society. Not for one minute do I believe the goings-on of the last 2 weeks are a first time occurence. The massive wages even the most mediocre players get has lifted them into cloud cuckoo land, where they believe they can do or demand anything and everybody else has to jump.I'm beginning to fail to find words to describe how angry and betrayed I feel about the sport I've followed for longer than these reprabates have been on this planet....
England players.......we are going on strike if the drug cheat isn't recalled......if he was an athlete he would be serving an indefinite ban.christ I hope the FA throw the book at him,but they won't because he's from Manu and he's an England international. If Ferdinand was some poor little player from Wimbledon he would be history.

The English game is shamed, not by fans, but the fat cat players who are bleeding us dry and laughing in our faces all the way to the bank.

yes I would, because the game is bigger then any player.

Sadly some big swell heads think they are untouchable and can do whatever they please.

Bit over the top at Rio! Do me a favour, the guy failed to take a drug test which he knew he had to do.He was told at a special briefing by an official from the UK Sport at the training ground, yet his team mates showered with him and gave a sample but he leapt into his chauffeured car, because he is currently serving a ban for drink-driving,and left the premises. As I said any other sport and he would be given a lengthy ban,Rio,he'll get a slap on the wrists.
Believe me cheesey if it was a liverpool player I would expect and hope the FA did their duty to uphold the good name of the sport of football.

:( Sorry but there is no smoke without fire? Rio knew the score, he thought he was too good to be caught out. there is too much of it about, players think they are a law unto themselves, it,s time they were brought down a peg or two!!. :p

You are right there supersub. The Game is bigger than any player. The stars will rise and disappear in time but the game is loved by almost everyone and everywhere in the world.

I can still remember the frustration of an athelette who jumped the gun and was disqualified instantaneously. He refused to leave the track it cried that it was a genuine mistake. Yet he was barred from running.

Likewise, it doesn't matter whether he is a star or not. The F. A has to act justly against Rio. I dont see why England squad is interfearing as if without Rio, they will concede goals at Istanbul.

As far as I can tell, you do it you face it.

It's funny you mention that athlete because it was Linford Christie, who was drawing to the end of his running career. It was suspected at the time his disqualification was self inflicted to cover up any mis-use of perfomance enhancing drugs(allegedly).

cheesey thats a riddiculous comment only worthy of the prat Neville.
Ferdinand,I admit was involved in a wild sex orgy a couple of years ago with Dyer and Lampard but it was all totally legal and not one of the 6 prostitutes complained.

One other thing, you said this incident involved a man city player...you didn't by chance read this in the Manc Evening News did you, because they publish nothing but lies and slander. ???
