Alou Diarra returning to liverpool.

success next season really is turning into a mouth-watering prospect.

gerrard should stay
cisse will be back
alonso will be fully fit
kewell (hopefully) will buck his ideas up n be back at full fitness.

all that for free... it'd cost chelsea about £80million!

Liverpool and Lens are in negotiations regarding the future of defensive midfielder Alou Diarra.

The 23-year-old has been a surprise hit in the French top flight this season after failing to impress during his career at Anfield.
During the duration of his loan spell he has become the Sang et Or captain and earned his first caps for France under Les Bleus boss Raymond Domenech.

Diarra has previously declared his satisfaction with his situation at Stade Bollaert, although Liverpool appear keen to offer the powerful midfielder first-team opportunities in The Premiership next season.

Lens chairman Gervais Martel is working hard to secure the former Bayern Munich man on a permanent deal, although according to reports in France the player's agent is meeting Reds chief executive Rick Parry next Thursday to discuss a return to Anfield.

Other English sides are also rumoured to be monitoring Diarra's situation, who has become hot property despite his disappointing career under previous Reds boss Gerard Houllier on Merseyside.

I must admit that I haven`t seen too many of his preformances so I haven`t made up my mind on weather I think he is Liverpool-material or not. But considering him being a regular in the French internationals squad at the age of 23, if I`m not mistaken he played the full 90 mins in the latest WC-qualifyer, it would be interesting to give him a shot to make an impact in the PL again. But if the decission is that he stays with Lens on a permanent basis, it seems fair to assume that Liverpool won`t be left empty handed. A 23 year old French international, who allready has been chosen to be the skipper of the French top-division team probably won`t exactly leave on a free transfer  ???

Seems like a win-win situation, doesn`t it?
