Who says his job is on the line ? There is only a couple people that can decide of his job is on the line - the owners

And is the manager not allowed to have a holiday ?!?

I don't have much confidence that we will bring in any top players either, it's not as if this transfer committee have a great track record, we spent over £100m last year and ended the season in disarray.

What difference does it make if they are Bosmans ?!

That doesn't make them bad players - in fact it's great that we have signed two players for small amount of money to free up money for others

We have bought some good players over the last couple of years

Coutinho
Sturridge
Lallana
Can

With a few others hopefully having a better second season - we struggled with the lack of a goalscoring striker with Sturridge out injured and others not scoring enough - we have brought in a player to be part of the group of players for that front line - he scored goals in a team that got relegated - every chance he will score a good deal more in a team creating chances.

Who knows who we will sign from now up until the end of the summer but to write everything off already is beyond doom and gloom.

Lallana is too lightweight and inconsistent, you can have Sturridge and Coutinho but they were bought in January 2013, not far off 3 years ago. Can has got promise but that's not much to show for over £100m spent last summer.
A gap exists between us and the top four clubs, imo that gap will not be closed signing players on free transfers and Bosman's, yes the season doesn't start until August but I have no faith whatsoever that the club will bring in the type of players needed to bridge that gap.
We looked an absolute shambles at the end of last season, that 6-1 against Stoke wasn't a freak result, with a bit more luck in front of goal Palace could have done that to us the week before at Anfield, we need a major injection of quality and I just don't see where it is coming from.

The fee that a club pays for a player shouldn't automatically judge how good they are

If Messi refused to sign a contract and went on a bosman would you be so dismissive then ?

Plenty of player have gone on Bosmans and done very well - Babbell and Gary Mac two perfect exames for us plus many more

Vice versa just because someone has gone for a big fee doesn't mean they will be a success

The players haven't even kicked a ball for the club yet and already you have dismissed then as not good enough to help bridge the 7 point gap

Like I've already stated ,'not' if the next year was pivotal to my longevity in the job ,and not if my every sound bite professed my supposed love for the club
and was inclusive of promises to make the club great again .....That do for you  ???

We are not signing Messi on free though are we? we are signing James Milner, a player who turns 30 on the 4th of January (which isn't great for a player who relies heavily on his workrate and 'hustle') and Danny Ings, a player who's goal scoring ratio in the top flight is a shade under 1 in 4.

That's a whole new level of bitterness towards the manager - critising him for having a holiday when every other manager in the British game is also on holiday

How old was Gary Mac when we signed him on a free ? The players are playing well into their mid 30's so Milner has a good 5/6 seasons left yet

Ings has had one season in the top flight - one season ?! And is still young - to use stats based on one season is scrapping the barrel

And both of them haven't kicked a ball for us yet and you have dismissed both

The point is we are not even linked to anyone of the level required to take us back into the top 4, you really Milner and Ings have the quality to take us to the next level? because if you do you are deluded.

What does it matter who we are linked too - it's who we sign and the window isn't open yet

I believe both have improved our squad with more signings to come

We have been linked with Tevez , Gundegon , Mandzukic , Kovacic , plus plenty others - makes no difference.

We have not been credibly linked to any of those players by any reliable sources though.
The players we have been linked to by reliable sources are exactly the players we have brought in (plus Clyne and Benteke).
I admire your optimism mate but personally I have very little faith in our recruitment policy, I think FSG's modus operandi is to finish as high as possible with the least possible outlay, that's not quite the same as going all out for top 4.

Least possible outlay ? How much on players have they spent in the last 4 years since they took over ?! Certainly not a small amount is it

Judging things on players linked with in the press is really trying to find things to be negative about

Every media source is as credible as each other -
