STEVEN GERRARD - Official Thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Benny The Noon » Fri Oct 18, 2013 5:36 pm

I think you have missed Yakkas point about his overall general fitness and stamina being protected throughout the season hence why he isn't picked week in week out so that the team get the best out of him throughout the whole season.

Gerrards form is suffering and dipping during the last 30 mins of a game - too many people are noticing it for it to be an agenda from a couple of people.

If Lucas would struggle to get into most sides in the prem how come he is getting into one of the best sides internationally - he currently starts for a team in the prem week in week out. Henderson has IMO been one of our better players since last Jan - they both put in a big shift in week in week out and allow Gerrard to play that odd one pass to set up a goal - their legs are providing the fuel for the engine room. Gerrard isn't currently.

He is 33 and his performances are showing that he is coming into the later years of his career - to ensure we get the maximum from him we must not overplay him IMO

Those alternatives as you call them are doing Gerrards leg work these season and one im sure as netted for us this year as opposed to Gerrard who hasn't

1. See the England game the other night.

2 Check the palace goalscorers.

Good post as always

Please read the part in the post when I mentioned the club not his country.

And was it 25 yards out in the last ten mins against Palace when he scored ? I do believe it was from the penalty spot so my point still stands.

Been quiet on the Hodgson thing when others haven't and makes me wonder if a Liverpool player
has kicked up the fuss. He's thick as thieves with Hodgson normally and would back him, plus
its a Sun leak which doubles the trouble for us.

Conspiracy theory  :lookaround

dont know why gerrard should have to comment on it anyway  :no  it doesnt deserve the news its getting tbh.
england have just topped their group in qualification and can now look forward to brazil but instead the attention gets diverted and the manager gets the headlines and has to issue an apology  :wwww

Yet more media PC bollox... whatever next?

Absolutely shocking that this has made the news and says pretty much everything you need to know about the do gooders in this idiotic country. Its absolutely pathetic that people found this worthy of being in a newspaper to be quite honest.

Damn. For other players, a single goal like most of these on the video would mark their career. Great moments. Some seem like yesterday. It's a shame that recently most of his goals are penalties though. Father time catches up with everyone I guess.

Anyone can look good on YouTube

In all seriousness he has scored so many outstanding and important goals for us. Probably the best player we have ever had!

Time for Gerrard to be dropped ,his performance today was shameful for a Liverpool Captain ,its a source of constant bemusement how the manager
leaves him on the pitch for 90 minutes when his performances are stinking the place out worse than a pair of Tulisa's  knickers.

Your beloved Lucas wasn't as good either, we should drop him too

Who plays instead if you drop him ? There is no viable or better alternative - that's the problem

Well if you had bothered your arse to view my comments in the match thread you would have clearly fucking  seen how
I stated Lucas was poor.....Still if you had ,your rapier like retort would have carried less weight.

Fuming with that performance earlier ,and I couldn't give a flying f*ck who I upset with my comments on how f*cking vexed I am at that soulless
display from Gerrard. I'm heartily sick of watching him walking around the pitch reluctant to make an interception of any description ,whilst the rest
of the team run their respective arses off .... Simply livid watching him limp around the field week in week out when the oppositions midfield
are in any measure combative.
