If we havent already signed him - and remember nothings finalised until all parties signitures are on the contract (remember Simao last year, when it was all done and dusted until befica hiked up his price?) -  in all seriousness i think newcastle will bid for him now as they have no strikers to start the season with.

If Newcastle outbid us, Feyenoord may only accept their bid, which would be cutains for us, as it would not be a decision of us or newcastle, it would be a decision of just newcastle...

... shame .... as kuyt crouch bellamy and god has a good ring to it

In that scenario, we'd have to hope that Kuyt has the sense to rebuff the toon, and insist on joining us.

If Kuyt has any sense he will see that Newcastle are a stragnant club with a helluva lot of re building to be done. Comparing LFC with them should see the guy have a very easy decision to make. I agree that Newcastle will probably bid for Kuyt but if, as someone has said, the deal is all but done then I am not worried.

I must say that if Bellamy and Kuyt do sign we will have pace in Bellamy, link up play in Crouch, great finishing in Fowler and power in Kuyt. A combination for all occasions.

Dirk Kuyt starts for Holland tonight for anyone who is interested. Although it is naïve to make a conclusion from one match and he will be playing out of position on the right, it is still a good chance to see what sort of player he is.

RVN starts up top with RVP on the left and Kuyt on the right.

Kuyt has not impressed me at all so far. He seems to be..well slow. He really doesn't have an exceptional touch either. He really has been invisible most of the match except for one shot from a tight angle.

In my oppinion, he is not worth 10m. I hope that he changes my mind in the second half.
