Does that mean he's going to actually PLAY BABEL......................?!?! The only positions Rafa is likely to play him in are left side and CF, very occaisionally he plays on the right. This season Babel has not had much chance, N'Gog has played four minutes short of twice as long

BABEL (LIVERPOOL)

07/08 : 49 apps, 2565 mins, 10 goals. (27 x 60+ mins)
08/09 : 42 apps, 1672 mins, 4 goals. (9 x 60+ mins)
09/10 : 17 apps, 593 mins, 3 goals (5 x 60+ mins)

He's gone from 52 mins per appearance to 40 down to 35. I find Rafa's comments rather bemusing, he's hardly given him a game this season (around 6.5 x ninety minutes worth of playing time) and 'now' he's saying he can shine!!! Last time he had a full 90 mins was in the Carling Cup back in OCTOBER, he's played 150 mins in seven appearances since.

Should he get a chance ahead of N'Gog? I think he is an alternative, whether he's better is debatable. I'd say he could be better used, I'm guessing there's more chance defenders will be worried by Babel running at them than N'Gog, even if it ends in nothing.

They bore the shyte out of me....who gives a flyin' phuck if Babel had an average of 0.765 dumps per day in 2007. Or that in the same year, he rapped an average 0.657 times per day....

So, do everyone a favour and give them a miss instead of sticking the boot in every time he posts.  It's not that hard, surely?  ???

I thought he showed a lot of fight when he came on today, even ran 20 yards to chase a ball down with about 10 seconds left, maybe he knows he has to put more in when he gets in chances otherwise he'll be gone in the summer.

he's no good. Gerrard played a pass and it bounced off Babel's shins...its like watching a school kid play. Very depressing.

Ryan Babel is like Diouf...he thinks he's 10 times better than he actually is. Sure, he's got talent, but what use is it when he refused to work on his game?

yey but remember it's all Rafa's fault for not nurturing him properly, he could easily be the best player in the world  :D

he's sh!t and he's arrogant. He should have been sold to Brummie when we had the chance to in my opinion
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Has the lad ever been given a run in his proper position which is either as the man playing off the main striker or as the main striker to give him any sort of confidence, no he's not, he's been moulded or tried to be moulded into a player that Rafa has wanted him to be, just leave the lad alone for :censored: sake, some proper downright :censored: on this forum, that's a nailed on :censored: fact.

I saw the lad ply his trade for Ajax and he was an exceptional talent, if Wenger had signed him he'd be a world beater, if Rafa had signed Fabregas he'd be below Lucas in the pecking order.

I remember when he came on against West Ham to set up Torres for that header everyone was creaming with him. And then I think he started the next game and was utter shyte. Babel is not very consistent at the best of times. Id have NGgog starting over him any day, he works harder that's for sure.

There is still a lot of potential with Ryan, whether or not he produces it with us is another story.
