I like Walcot but he is too injury prone. Also I think he just signed a new contract last year. Merida plus some cash would be a good deal.

He scored a corker against us in the Carling Cup this season. I think it's hard for him to get into the 1st team at Arsenal due to them already having so much attacking talent. Technically he is very gifted, but i've only seen him play a few times. He will play for Spain in the next few years though I am sure of it.

to be honest i'd swap babel for just about any of the arsenal squad, including the kids. but maybe not almunia. or bendtner.

Agreed, although I'd actually definitely swap him for Bendtner aswell, who I think is a bit of an underrated player tbh (whereas Walcott is a bit overrated imo). We could do with some presence upfront, and he's decent enough on the floor aswell. Don't get me wrong, there are others I would have before him though (Fabregas or Arshavin would do nicely :D).

Anyways long story short: Babel out, and a striker in before the end of the transfer window please :).

Are you off your nut mate? Walcott is a class player and has run our players ragged on more than 1 occasion. CL QF not to mention that 4-4 at home in the league.

And you want us to take a striker who spends half the season on the bench?  :D RVP is a sicknote, a sicknote who just signed a new contract.

If you watch Arsenal play, you'll see what a liability Walkcott is. RVP is technically one of the best in the premiership.

Agree with daws on this ,if you look at walcott over the last four years he's been at Arsenal .He hasn't progressed really . He's gone from a promising 17 year old in the England sqaud to apromising 21 year old with alot of injuries and still just about in the England squad .

I'm sure i read somewhere that Fran Merida has only 6 months left on his contract (although can't remember where).

If that's the case he can't be valued at more than £500k - £1m tops as not even a reg starter in their Carling Cup squad.

Pass on this but would take Cesc and £10m for Babel but not a penny less :p

because of his age, his value will be set by a tribunal, and could possibly cost any potential buyer (and I'm just guessing here) £4m-£8m despite him being out of contract

Theo Walcott is absolute Pony, so overated its untrue. Wouldnt want him anywhere near a Liverpool shirt, as for Merida id be suprised if he makes it, nothing special at all. With regards to Ryan Babel if were not gonna use him why didnt we accept the 10mil offered by Birmingham City? while he is still our player he should be in the team ahead of the likes of rubbish like Degan and N'gog

No way would I take Walcott, and I don't see Marida enough but if Arsenal would part ways with him for Babel I would worry.  Wenger doesn't let good young stars run off like that usually.  Walcott is definitely overated, I used to think he had potential as well but he's a bit like Babel just has a better attitude, but far more injury prone.  He has flashes of brilliance followed by nothingness.
