Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby red_guy » Mon Dec 21, 2009 8:53 am

I think most of the players has lost their confidence in Rafa. Yes we can blame the players but most of them were already with us last season. How come a squad with confidence (last season) suddenly become a shitty squad this season and things getting worst now (it's already been 5 months). No money? well, we don't have money then but still the players showed us the confidence and we're still winning games regularly. As for now, there's loads of the so called 'rally call' from the captain, the deputy , the manager himself, other players etc but still we're no better. i am not anti-rafa or pro-rafa... i'm just a supporter who concerns about the future of the club. Let's say if the players really have lost confidence in rafa, can he overturn this bad period in our club? i don't think so.

there seems to be strong reports coming into the press room that our owners are working on getting a new Manger and Rafa knows about this. He will get a big pay off (ooops so i am wrong there).
this might well be the last few days or hours as Rafa as our manager.

edit
hold on, just been told that this report has come in from a reporter that has always been very poor with the info, but it has been backed up with other repoters.

but this report has made Sky and the BBC  ready to send tv crew to the ground today, SKY's has already left for the ground .but that might be due to the weather.

This was posted on the Rattle yesterday, dont know if its bullsh!t or true.

There will be a 'crisis conference' at Anfield late tomorrow afternoon (monday). Present in person or by video will be the following:– Hicks, Gillette, Purslow, Benitez, Gerrard, Lee, Dalglish. There are major problems motivation–wise within the team. When the Americans clawed back £55M from Rafa's transfer kitty that he had built up, the players were already aware that two major signings were about to be made (literally days away) involving nearly all of that money. That all fell by the wayside as the Americans decided to pay down the debt instead, which in turn destroyed the team's morale.

There is a major major split developing with Hicks and Gillette on one side and the rest united around Rafa on the other. The Americans refuse point blank to accept that quality players cost so much money and believe that the team's fanbase is secure enough and large enough to make it economically acceptable to be a middle–ranking team with cheaper players for at least the next 5 seasons as they continue to pay down the debt and get the new stadium underway. This is unacceptable to the Rafa camp.

Rafa is going nowhere unless forced and if he goes then the others will walk with him along with several senior players. This has been made plain to the Americans who are not happy and are even more annoyed in that although they have a choice of three potential backers, all three want an equal share awith the Americans and a say in the day–to–day running of the club which the Americans are not willing to relinquish. Dark days indeed. Onwards to US–inspired mediocrity!!

dont think theres any truth in that apart from there being a meeting. what is not true is the bit about  senior players walking if Rafa walks, a tell you right now that theres more chance of  senior players walking if Rafa stays., we lost one last year do to Rafa staying.

If thats the case then the players should rally round Rafa and tell the yanks to fu'ck off. The supporters need them to stop being like little kids who dont get their own way and grow some bollox immediately!

:nod  Agreed, and I really hope there is a meeting today to tell the yanks that lack of invesment will see their none-investment franchise collapse.

Ciggy...either way the players are going to get their '70K-or-100K-or-whatever-ridiculous-weekly-pay-they-get' anyway, so I can't see anybody having the nads to stand up to the owners. They're at least one level removed from the board so it doesn't matter to them, unless you have the likes of Gerrard and Carra, local lads, standing up for the pride and heritage of the club. The rest are bought in, hired mercenaries if you want, and if it isn't Liverpool paying them an obscene amount of money for kicking a leather ball around, it'll be some other club instead....

That sounds to me like what it is...Gerrard, Lee, Kenny, Gerrard etc (in the UK) rallying around Rafa.

I dont mean literally tell them to fu'ck off
I mean get in the dressing room and agree that the sh'it stops now and we play like we mean it.
For the fans and the club
Or even their pride (if theyve got any?)
Fu'ck tactics and formations
Get out there and be footballers for fu'cks sake!!!

Sounds like absolute BS.

Everyone knows that financially a top four is a must to maintain revenue.

Totally agree, even I don't believe that H&G think they can make money with LFC being an also ran mid table team. They know they would just end up losing everything.
