I suggest you come to Anfield and watch a match...and then walk into a pub and say "Hey, i think Steve Bruce would make a GREAT MANAGER OF LIVERPOOL FC"

You would get lots of time in hospital to think about it afterwards.

Tell you what, anyone who even think the likes of dirty Sam, Steve Cabbage Head Bruce, or Dirty Harry Redknapp are viable options of this club need to get their coat and f*ck off out of this forum and not come back near it. This is a Liverpool supporters forum afterall.

i know mate, the lad is either a wind up merchant or a complete retard.

NO self respecting liverpool fan would suggest Steve f**king Bruce.

The question was who is good league manager ffs not who I want to replace rafa stop being a Pr!ck.

The problem with the top four is that being a good manager in just the league just doesn't cut it. You need to be good at both the CL and the league. Like it or not, people need to realize that it's just as much to do with balancing the books these days as it is success on the pitch. The CL is a priority if this is to be done. Just ask Arsen Wenger. He's went four years without winning anything, yet I see no calls for him to have his head on a silver platter. Arsenal can't afford to sack him, and we can't afford to sack Benitez for the same reasons.

I would take Wenger over Benitez. Today, tomorrow or whenever.
Wenger can motivate players; does not sign donkeys or no-hopers; plays beautiful football; promotes from within and knows a quality player when he sees one (How much did Vermaelen cost ?)...

Me too the guy is a footballing god what he has done with arsenal is nothing short of brilliant. For me winning things isn't as inportant as playing good football and thats what arsenal do they will win things tho its written in the stars you can see its gonna happen.Wenger could teach Rafa alot Imo about some aspects in football but when you look at it I doubt Rafa could teach Wenger any thing ?  :glare:

Didn't he teach him something in the CL last year?

you are missing my point....i'll ask it in another way

Who do you want to be the next manager of Liverpool FC?

Lets think about it. You need someone who can match or better a record of no trophies for three seasons (and a good chance of being four). You need someone who can match or better a record of losing six out of our last seven matches, who has just presided over defeats at the mighty Sunderland and Fulham.

It's a tricky one I'll give you that, perhaps you're right and there simply isn't another manager on planet Earth who could match such lofty achievements.

Again, i am using last season as an example. It was our best league campaign for YEARS and now everyone is saying "we are :censored: and always have been"

Let me know when the festival of knee jerking has stopped

Come back when you less drunk please and really add something to the debate instead of defending the undefendable because as of yet you failed to make a real arguement of why we should not sack Rafa.If "cos there is no one better" arguement carrys on much longer I will just put you on ignore dude and I don't wanna do that.

Who would be a good manager Mourinho? negative/efficient football, would want £8 million a year, plus a mammoth transfer budget.

Very bored of the hearing the following:
Squad is thin: If RB cannot form a reasonable squad over 5 years whos fault is that ?.
No money to spend: I know RB has spent it all over the last 5 years, he has had numerous transfer windows with plenty of money available.
Missing Alonso in the middle: mmmm... whos fault is that ?
The owners: They do not pick the side, sign players or make subs and in all but one transfer window they have been more than fair with funds available, yes they are lying c**nts in respect of finance and the stadium but lets not let them be scapegoats for poor management.
The manager has an avearge record over 5 years with only 2 trophy's to show playing very poor football, now we are going backwards, strange team selections, signing and subs he is going to go its just a matter of when.

FFS everyone knows its parrys perslows fault  :D

you can not count Aquilani ot for that matter Aurelio
so aquilani we new about him before we signed him and aurelio has been injury likley since we bort him.
we new and no both of the history of these guys.
so let get real you mean Torres, Gerrard,Agger, Mascherano, Johnson, Reira
5 players- 5 players is hard to be without, but the difference with us to other teams is in every postion of these guys we have n decent cover. Ngog, voronin lucas, that old greek guy. o please you are making out no other team can cope without injurys

my argument is this:

Rafa guided us to a 2nd place league finish last season. We also challenged for the league title right up until the last week of the season.  I do not believe our side has turned sh!te overnight.

It's not invalid when you have Torres, Gerrard, Aquilani, Agger, Mascherano, Johnson, Reira and Aurelio all injured. That's more or less a full team of class players that haven't had a consistent start to our season since it started.

So you say the squad depth comes into it? Well invariably so. But how much would it cost, or would it even be posible, to have fringe players of equal quality to those names that I just mentioned, and would they be content at sitting on the bench? It's not possible for various reasons. And before anyone mentions City or Chelsea, think!

I don't think the point or expectation is that in one fell swoop we would magically replace our entire cack bench with kwalitee. That's not going to happen, not even at Citeh.
The point is, over 5 years, Rafa has traded and what-not dozens of players, and we are still nowhere near having a quality second string. I don't want to hear the excuses about funds etc. 'cos it doesn't wash. For the millions spent on individual players, they have more or less been knee-jerk reactions to a crisis e.g. getting Keane in.....and just count the number of players have left as soon as they arrived, adding nothing at all to the team, and the overall quality of first and second string has stagnated. After all the players he has bought, can anybody say the level of quality has improved ? Are we stronger in depth ? No way near it....pathetic.

I honestly think that sacking him now would be a big mistake for a number of reasons... That said, despite my pessimism before the season started about our start of the season .. or how "we come out of the blocks" as some have put it.. i never for a second thought it would be this bad... before the ManUtd game, i still thought we'd go out and win the league... after today, im not so sure thats quite the viable possibility...

I think Rafa is fcking up big style atm... When everyone is fit and ready, we have the 2 best players in the league and quite a bit of quality behind them which makes us a little too much to handle for most sides regardless of the manager... Against the bigger sides, Rafa is a good man to have on the bench because in terms of tactical preparations for such games, hes top class..

Now, the problem is... the guy cant cope when hes under pressure or when his best players arent fit and firing...

Initially, i was suggesting we'd give him until the end of the season and then see where we go from there depending on achievements... Now, im not so sure the situations permits such a long wait... Wouldnt sack him now, but i think that unless things starting looking much better in the league and CL (assuming we qualify) by Christmas, then his position will have to be considered... By that i mean, if we're not in the top4 by Christmas, and out of the CL by then, then we might aswell give up on the season and look to give a new man the opportunity to work with the squad for an extra 1/2 a season and maybe bring in 1 or 2 of his own players in January and see how that goes...

When it comes to names, id be looking at top managers only... Mourinho or Hiddink at the end of the season, and Mancini, Daglish, Sven or Riijkard in January...

67 players mate 60 fecking 7.not like he not had a chance to build a squad let alone the team we have now.

I like to see what Wenger has done with same money over last 5 years ?Lets be truthful his youth team would give out first team a good game if not beat us.

ust for kewell as he cannot read
