bye bye Rafa, you had the money you had the time and you still could not get the CL out of your mind, you never understood it the PREM the liverpool fans after.

yes you were short of players today but you made some bad subsand i think your time is up.

May i suggest you take time to digest what has happened today and then think on it some more before posting knee-jerk reactions.

If Rafa had taken his eye completely off the Lyon game and we went on to get beaten in midweek, you would probably have still come on here calling for his head regardless.

Today was a disaster, but he couldn't control the sendings off or the fact that Vorinon has completely forget how to play football.

Question for you.

Who would come in and do a better job than Rafa? Be realistic in your answer. Don't forget that any new manager will have to work with what's their and wont get much in the way of transfer kitty. So what do you expect any new 'messiah' to achieve?

Thats the one... the moment he took off Torres, he confirmed in my mind he has to go. Hes lost the plot. Taking off Benayoun, the best player on the field against Lyon, was scandalous, and they scored within 10 minutes. The same has happened today.

Benitez we know is an odd man, cold, bizarre character. Thats 8 defeats and its October.

Mourinho or Hiddink for me.

Adios Rafa.

No, now its not the time, Ill still wait till the end of the season, but some of his decisions today just showed that we aren't going forward.

sad to say it is not working, this relationship, LFC and Rafa.
our most realistic target now is Martin o'neil, a name that excites nobody.
5 yrs and hundred of millions down the drain and we still cant build a team that can rival mancs, chels etc etc.

How embarrassing! If we don't get a result against Lyon we have the FA Cup to play for and it's the first week of November. As great as last week was this week is as bad.... questionable tactics yet again from Rafa.... the crisis has returned and yes we have injuries but is it really necessary to field such a weak team and then substitute your star striker and your only genuine playmaker when there is a game to be won, let alone the Championship?.... laughable if it wasn't so truly tragic!

Realistic/ Desperate targets: Keegan, King Kenny, Martin O'neil.

Personally i will prefer the old boys, if we have to go down, it may as well be them taking us down (not relegation, mind you). The Fulham defeat really dash my dreams of LFC breaking the dominance of Mancs.

I just finished watching the Fullham game live and it is now 1am in my parts of the world.

Youssi Benayoun was being played...out on the left. WTF. Here is our on-form and most creative player who should play behind Torres, but he gent shunted on the left and Voronin is playing behind Torres.

As we were chasing the game after Torres had came off and we trailed 2-1, he took off Benayoun who clearly shook his head in disbelief as he walked off to be substituted.

Rafa got his tactics dead wrong today, and there is no one else he can blame but himself as he is also in sole charge of transfers. It is just 1 November (for me at least as I am ahead in the time zone) and it looks like we are nowhere near the Premiership title.

Rafa is too plain stubborn in his belief that his tactics and his famed use of the zonal marking system is right, while the results do not indicate so. Time to go? It is becoming obvious except to him.

I am begining to despise Lucas and I am perplexed at how important Rafa sees him as a definite starter when he can't pass the ball well enough if his life depended on it and he can't defend nor shield the defence...he is next to useless and he is no Alonso!

Well, Now the RM sc.ums wants Rafa, after their 4-0 trashing by a div 3 side. Rumors have been flying since the last 2 seasons. First they want our key player now they want our manager.
As for me, it is simple, i will need to see the team with a drive regardless of results, if we cant get the results, fine, but we must be shown giving 110% for every game.
We have been underdog since R. Evans era or earlier, going into GH era, we were the underdog that can win (Roma, Barca; Uefa cup) and in Rafa's  era i will like to see us throwing away the underdog tab and become giants.

to be frank, i am truly truly sick of Real Madrid treating us like a feeder club, we are LFC for crying out loud. it like we need to whack them again 4-0 to show it to the world.

I really can't understand where these "Real madrid want Benitez" rumours are coming from. Do you seriously think Real Madrid will go after Benitez ?

They sacked Capello because they thought he was too defensive and his football wasn't pleasing to the eyes. This immediately after winning the league for them. So how in the world are they intrested in benitez ?

Unless these are the yearly "real madrid wants benitez" rumours which always seems to come out during certain "strategic" moments... :glare:

No, Madrid would never want Rafa. After the last three times they tried to prize him away from Anfield, I'd assume they just gave in. Or was that made up? Who knows.

Oh, I don't know. Maybe winning the league twice with an unfancied team and breaking up the usual two horse race there has something to do with it? For example, imagine if another team outside of the Old Firm in the SPL won the title. Hard to imagine, right? Maybe his record in the CL has something to do with it also? Maybe he IS a top class manager, one of the best around, and the fact that his heart is in Madrid also has something to do with it?

You don't half spout some shyte at times, Rock.

You were saying ...........  :glare:

I am not sure how the madrid fans will react if he takes of ronaldo when they have to win a game....

Actually ...i wouldn't mind if he went to madrid after all.

Reminiscent of Houllier in his last year. Baffling everyone...and essentially asking to get fired.

The problem ive always had with Benitez is hes a weirdo as a person, so could never fathom what he was going to do next. Istanbul proved he was an incredibly lucky manager having made the worst team selection by discarding the 4-2-3-1 that got us to the final, leaving out Hamann which allowed Kaka to run riot, and instead playing the crock Kewell.

Today is a pivotal moment, and he has to go.

No doubt they will be rallying round the gaffer again here and finding someone else to blame. Benitez and his dwindling faithful on the kop will keep taking us further and further back so we know who to blame when we become a bigger laughing stock than we are already if that is possible. What a shambles we are but somehow the manager remains untouchable and it makes me wonder what has happended when supporters allow this to continue.People really are causing problems by backing this manager and I am sick and tired of it as we have to sit and watch the team go down the pan because of them.

If Rafa goes to Madrid, they will become the best team in Europe.  I am 100% sure of that.

The exact thing happen 2 seasons ago when he took off torres to save him for the champions league game.

And he has done it again.......

Do the f@ckin hippies think he will win the premier league title with this type of mentality ....

End of this season....Benitez has to go.
