Mick's already made the point I would make but to put a different spin on it I think that each and everyone of the following players would get into our squad at the moment:

Alonso (duh)
Crouch
Bellamy
Keane
Cisse
Baros
Pongolle
Garcia
Sissoko
Murphy
Riise
Warnock
Hyypia
Arbeloa
Finnan

With some of the above on our books still I'm convinced that none of the following players would be anywhere near our first team, if they were at the club at all:

Ngog
Voronin
Lucas
Babel
Dossena
Degen
Spearing
Kyrgiakos
Plessis
El Zhar

To pick this up another way, look at the two lists above and ask yourself which group looks more likely to help us win the title when you add the likes of Torres, Gerrard, Reina, Carra, Masch and Kuyt to the squad?  It's not even a contest, IMO.

Yeah but in fairness Sabes we're not a freakin' social club... good players replaced by better players I hope.

Come come Bob lets not exaggerate...

I'll take Alonso, Crouch and Bellamy from the first list  but forget the others, Baros cant hold down a place, Finnan is finished, Murphy and Riise way too old. At their prime mate yes, but not mid october 2009.

As you state, the second list would struggle against most EPL sies.

I think I take thier views over yours nan every thing that comes out ya mouth is bile.At least they are showing some signs of passion instead of just shouting "get those G@H out" like that is gonna make us play better football ?

Guy on there even said about babel is a confidence player and Rafa does not give confidence to his players to sum up pretty much how I feel these players of ours don't give our team 100% cos they don't deep down wanna play for a cold hearted manager like RB.

Passion dont tell me about passion mate, them fans on those phoneins wouldnt know passion if it hit them in the face, theve never been to a game in there life mate , alls they like to do is sit in there nice comfy little chair an critisise,  The only bile that comes out of my mouth is against two people who i think are destroying my club, an rightly so.
You could wrap Babel up in a mink coat an gloves an hed still be c.rap. The lads got no heart full stop. not good enough, but me an thousands of others must be wrong because the people on the phone ins said so.

Given our problems at left back maybe getting rid of Warnock wasn't too clever either..

Actualy good lad on the phonein there been the ressie game tonight , went on about Rafa having full control now an how they are all training together at Melwood an not seperate Mentiond Sunderland ressies winning the league last year an how strong ours were beating them 2-0 , as he said with Rafa having full control we might see possibly a few coming through , Patches , being one of them :;):

If we end up losing to united this sunday , the pressure will really be on rafa and the board might start contemplating sacking him , we could see a new manager by new years day. A couple of issues arise from this , if we sack him , can we find someone better at that point to replace him ? Secondly , will there be a mass players revolt ?

I'm pretty sure out of our spanish bunch torres will stay. Rafa is a great cup manager , tatically he's spot on but injuries are something we have to cope with and not use as an excuse everytime results go against us . This is where squad depth comes in and if we have the depth of manu and chelsea then fair enough but apparently our bench is filled with players like Ngog and Spearing and Kelly . They maybe decent youngsters but what have they done to merit a place in the bench yet? Spearing hasn't had a good game , Kelly's been okish and Ngog has looked decent in flashes.

We need players who can make things happen like owen off the bench for manu , J cole , Zhirkov , Sturidge, for chelsea. Its unfair for us to be compared to Chelsea in terms of wealth but at times i wonder has rafa spent his money wisely , whether he should have kept bellamy and keane , at least we'd have 2 decent strikers off the bench who have a good goal scoring record instead of flogging Ngog uptop whenever we have torres injured. We should have signed a right back in the summer as well to replace glen johnson or the season before that but instead rafa spent the whole summer pursing fcking gareth barry. Rafa is too ruthless with his policy of flogging players after one season , i think ozwat did a stat of the players sold after a season before , the values they were bought and sold for.

To Sum up , if rafa does leave , who do we get to replace him? Mourinho , Hiddink , Rikjaard are the only ideal choices for me and they are all with clubs at the moment and moruinho has made it no secret that he wants to manage us . We probably won't as we have 2 morons in charge and they will probably get someone in like Alan Curbishley
