no, cant agree. its naive to completely blame the owners and lay off Rafa. He has made mistake afetr istake in his signings and his stubbornness...

I'm behind the manager as ong as he is manager, but he's destroying our chances again and again. why, when we have money probs, does he spend SOOO much on a player who cant even play for months... he has signed over 60 players and most of them were useless.

Yes the owners suck, but you cant lay all the blame with them!

Because who were the alternatives? Lee Cattemole for f***s sake. For the limited money that Rafa has to spend (raised by selling players, not by the owners giving) Aquilani was the best option available in Rafa's eyes and after spending big on Xabi and Masch (in our comparison) I'd trust him when it comes to spending big on a central midfielder.

If the owners provided proper funds and didn't force Rafa to sell his players, then we would be in a better position. Truth is, it's the owners fault for bleeding the club dry of any funds from their own back pocket.

If the worse happens and we dont qualify past the group stage and we dont finish in the top four then I would assume the owners would get rid of Rafa.

But we havent reached those scenarios yet

I've been a Rafa dissenter for some time and can still see his (many) faults, which have been stated here already.

But I want him to stay.

Our anthem is You'll Never Walk Alone. You'll. Never. Walk. Alone. Read the words. What do they mean? It is a case of You'll Never Walk Alone when everything is going our way or You'll Never Walk Alone when it really counts.

Rafa needs our support right now. This is the worst run we've had for 22 years and it's not the Liverpool way to turn our backs on our team/gaffer when they need it. It's now they need support. Not when we're winning.

And we're partly to blame for all this. This won't be a popular comment but it's the truth. For years Rafa and the team has been hearing THELEAGUETHELEAGUETHELEAGUETHELEAGE.

European Champions? :censored: that - THE LEAGUE
FA Cup Winners? :censored: that - THE LEAGUE

We want the league. Rafa wants the league. The team wants the league. That pressure pours down from the stands onto the pitch. If there's one wayward pass, the groans that fill Anfield are deafening. One pass. I don't know about you guys but I certainly wouldn't be able to cope under that kind of pressure 24/7. It would do my head in and would have an adverse effect on my performance.

Come on Rafa and the boys - let the Mancs know who they're playing against on Sunday.

And us? Let the Mancs know where they're playing on Sunday.

THIS. IS. ANFIELD.

YOU'LL. NEVER. WALK. ALONE.
AND HERE COMES AVI COHEN!! OH I SAY - AT THE SAME END HE'S GOT ONE BACK!!!!!!!!!!

So if no alternatives just blow the lot on a crock?

We have funds, we have signed more players than most teams... just they are poor players. And the subs he is doing...madness...

I a, just becoming dissalussioned with Rafa lately, but lets just see what he can do

Yeah a clever move there I think cos G&H are trying to score points with the fans when they know the majority still want Rafa so they come out with the statement knowing they can't afford to pay him off If they sack him

Its a strange one: I don't think anyone saw this bad run coming.

I have been a critic of Rafa in the past but I'm not in favour of sacking him. He has done pretty much as well as anyone could have in the circumstances at Liverpool.

Sack him and replace him with who? Its hard to think of any available managers who could better than what Rafa has done and is still capable of doing.

All the same, I genuinely fear for his position now. Lose at home to UTD and he'll be under fierce pressure.

Seriously??

I was gonna start a thread before the Sunderland game about "crunch time"
over the next few weeks.

The writing was on the wall if you ask me.

WTF are you on about?

If the worst happens we'll have to go win the UEFA cup.

Rafa doesnt get sacked because we dont get out of the group stages.... jeezus wept....  the hysteria is going desparate to dummy spitting level!

Lets get SOS to start a Rafa Out campaign. Light the braziers lads....

It was written all over the pre-season tour.

It's starnge really - but those who have been critical of him over the last 2-3 seasons
say he should stay.

I'm in that camp too - the club needs Rafa. Sacking him could see us flounder like we've never done before.
