For all of 10 mins, he did reasonably well, and did what would be expected of him. I'd like to see him keep that up, for two reasons: a) for the team and results in general, and b) for his transfer value !!

good ten min cameo - lets see if he can step up from that now as we have seen loads of ten min cameos then followed by 90 mins of pure rubbish from him .

Nice to see Ryan trying his best last night.  Don't get used to it though.

He looked like he was trying but it's hard to gaugue from a 10 min spell at the end. He will probably start in the near future and :censored: it all up like he usually does.

I think that Babel is good when he comes in as a substitute . As i remember 2 years ago 1/4 final vs. Arsenal when he set up the penalty and shortly after that scored , he also came as a substitute .

I`d bring him on for Torres. As long we have Yossi and Riera fit I wouldnt have him anywhere near the left wing.

But that is why people are so annoyed, he did that and you have to think back TWO YEARS for an example of when he did something 'special'. Like when people wax lyrical about Beckham free-kicks they mention Greece and Colombia which were what, 2002 and 1998 respectively?

Add to that the fact he has the wrong attitude then he's bound to get criticised, wanting away isn't doing him any favours either. If there is one thing that this post may make people realise is they give Lucas a lot of stick, but at least he has the right attitude and puts in a lot more good performances than Babel. Fair enough he spends longer on the pitch, but even allowing for that he gives more and produces more.

People seem to forget that unlike Kuyt or Lucas, Babel hasn't had any kind of run in the team.

Babel is a good player but it's a real pity we havent seen much of his talent since we signed him.  Some of that is down to him and some to Rafa.

One thing is for sure, he is no left winger, he just doesn't look comfortable out there.

tbf he played in 49 in his 1st season and 38 2nd season, so he's had chances

a lot were subs i'm sure, but that's the nature of his position and as a youngster breaking into the team

(lucas has played less games than himn, by the way; 32 and 41 in his 1st 2 seasons)
