Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Never liked him, rated him or wanted him at our club..  truly awful proffesional who does not have the  basic skills and basic decision making ever to make it in the Premiership
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Me either. Infact just reading Ajax forums and seeing how happy most of them were to see him go gave me doubts right from the get go.

RAFA'S MESSAGE FOR FRUSTRATED STARS

Paul Eaton 07 September 2009

Rafael Benitez today urged Ryan Babel and Albert Riera to do their talking on the pitch after both players expressed frustration over a lack of first team opportunities so far this season.
Babel has revealed he would be interested in a loan move to Ajax when the transfer window reopens in January, while Riera made only his first start of the campaign at Bolton last weekend.

Benitez insists both players will get chances to shine over the coming months - and that it will then be down to them to seize the opportunities which come their way.

"Albert and Ryan both want to play," said Benitez. "They play in the same position and so have to compete with each other, which is good for us.

"The message is very simple. On the pitch all of the players have to prove something.

"Ryan knows he cannot go now, so he has to impress. He is a good player and we know he has talent. It's important for us to talk with him and see how he progresses over these months.

"With the World Cup at the end of the year the majority of our players will want to impress and if they do well in each training session they will have more chances."
"If I put a player in another position, suddenly 20 experts are going on about it. Experts of what, though? I don't know." - Rafa

Out of order from Rafa. This needs to be said behind closed doors, not in public

Ryan babel rap:

Yo…check it…a lot of y'all haters had a good year last year…when I came into the league…set to tear that motherf*cker up…then only got 19 minutes of playing time spread across 67 matches.
Well, guess what? That was then. It's a new year, bitches. And a lot of people laughin' now…ain't gonna be laughin' much longer. You feel me?

We up two-nothin' eighty-six minutes in it,
Now you know Rafa must be nervous cause he puts me up in it
I am impervious to pressure like Gunga Din is
I got that hunger to win this
And I can bring it like the Hun for as much as six minutes.
Throw me a bone, and I'll chase it like Rin-Tin-Tin did,
Leave my man scared and alone like an orphan at Christmas.
I am a menace, and I'll crush you like my God crushes sinners.

You know I got to be upright in this universe,
But don't think just 'cause I look nice that you ain't gettin' hurt,
Hell yes I cry at Bambi and my cheeks are soft
But if you think you understand me I will put you aloft.
And if you say my gentle manner is a reason for doubt
I'm gonna make your face look much more like the face of Dirk Kuyt,

And if you think my sleepy meekness means that I don't come hard
You gonna make me get my beer mug back from Steven Gerrard.

That's Stevie G, y'all…hey, it don't matter to me…
Or Jamie C…Fernando T…
We all out to destroy a cat called Wayne Rooney,
For LFC—the big dog's name is Rafa B,
I got to send a shout-out to my man Xabi,
And pass along a little warning to that chump Robbie.
You little bitch—listen up, the next time we shootin' skeet
We gonna stamp them motherf*ckers with K-e-a-n-e,
And when we kick 'em out the sky into smithereens,

We be high-fivin', countin' down to the last day of the season,
I got the rhyme, motherf*cker, now just give me the reason,
Word.

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

???

Im sure the players already know , nothing wrong with making it public and telling players to step up their game - seemed to work with gerrard - babel went public with his story and rafa has responded positively by saying he will get a chance and when he does babel has to take the chance - cant see whats out of order with that .

At the end of the day if these players want it bad enough then they will perform on the pitch. Rafa said similar things to Yossi not too long ago and look how well he responded. With Riera I don't know why he was omitted from the team in the first place as I felt he already showed enough last season to warrant his starting place, maybe his lack of consistensy is what sent him behind Yossi in the pecking order but if Babel want's in on the first team he needs to play out of skin. Thing is I don't think he has it in him both mentally and technically.

Didn't someone (possible Sabre - apologies if it wasn't!) hint that Riera was affected by that player dying in Spain? Going to the funeral etc. That may explain why he was left out early on.

Babel's beginning to remind me of Collymore - theoretically he could be outstanding but can't be arsed when he gets the chance. I'm sure if he got a long run in a team he'd come good but we can't afford to give a player 10-20 games to gain their confidence. Especially not if Riera/Benny can come in and do the job.

It's time for Babel to follow the example of Kuyt and work as hard as he can. Put in extra training rather than flying to New York to cut rap records (see how I'm down with the lingo? fo' sho' mo' fo' :p )

I can understand Riera expressing his frustration at lack of football but Babel is just taking the :censored:. We have got Benayoun playing out of his skin every oppertunity he gets and there's Babel who gets an opportunity, completelty :censored: it up, and then wonders why he isnt being chosen.

I never really liked him, but now he is just getting on my nerves

And that rap is an epic fail.
