Rafa should kick him up the backside! He needs to be told how shocking his performance has been over the seasons and tell him we payed for 11m and he needs to start presenting his price tag!

Want to lose more games? Keep starting Babel and benching Benayoun. Sometimes I can't figure out Rafa. How do you leave Yossi, arguably one of the key players last season, on the sideline and start Babel instead? Yossi did more in his 20 minutes than Babel did in 60.

Agreed. Not sure how much we'll get for him though?

If no one will buy him, that doesn't mean we still have to play him surely.

Perhaps the reality is noone is prepared to bid what Rafa wants to sell Babel for so we're stuck with him. I reckon he could be a decent sub if Rafa can get it out of his head to keep playing him on the left. I reckon even Voronin would be a better choice on the left than Babel.

Was rather worrying looking at our bench. I'm no Voronin basher, but our bench was weak as water. Did we really need Kelly AND Ayala. Are we so short on options we needed Spearing and Dossena as well?  That left Benayoun and Voronin as attacking options, both came on and did better than those selected in the starting XI ahead of them. On today's showing maybe we should be wishing the £3m rumoured sale to Hertha is Babel not Voronin. What kind of bench will we have if Voronin goes?

Ryan Babel reminds me off a chocolate raisin with legs.

Babel should be put in the reserves if he can't pull his finger out.

I dont think he is a left winger at all.

Doesnt he play wide of a three for Holland ?
More of an attacking wide forward ?
When he is isolated on the wing he doesnt have the intelligence to make the right decision, constantly running down blind alleys and giving the ball away cheaply.
Its been said before but i think he would probably fare better as back up to Torres down the middle.

He was probably selected yesterday as he had had a good game in midweek for Holland and because of his pace on the break.
In hindsight though dropping Benayoun obviously is something Rafa shouldnt have done.
Its doubtful that he will do again if Riera is out either.

I thought Lucas did ok yesterday, it was mascherano that was poor in the middle for me.

His not a Left winger.  His not progressing at a quick enough rate and lastly we paid way too much for Babel.  Nobody else would of paid that amount.  I watched the PSV v Ajax yesterday (great game) and there is a LW at PSV called Balázs Dzsudzsák.  He looks very impressive.  Has improved loads in 18 months.
