Thats a bit harsh pal, considering he gets bit part roles and not full games very often. Unlike Stevie, Torres, Kuyt, Masch, Etc.

I would like to see him get a good run of at least 10 starts in the first 11, then see where we are before we make knee-jerk comments.

Respect.  :p

He played OK today. He needs to step it up! Maybe a lack of confidence or maybe he's to cocky but he needs to play more like a team! He has good pace and skill but he doesn't use it to his advantage!

For my money, he's had enough chances and he's shown repeatedly he's not up to it.  A lad of decent skill but nowhere near enough bottle or game intelligence to make it at a top club.

The problem with that would be all the pts we would drop while he knocks even more off his resale price, we would be lucky to recoup 5/6ml on him now  :(
Hes had time and opportunities to make an impact and hasnte done it.
Only the first game, but I do feel concerned. our squad depth is awful
I would get shut of Babel,Voronin and Ngog, buy the best availible forward we can for the cash, and drop SG back into MF and play 442 until Aquilani is ready.
Lucas is limited and only a bench player at best.

I've said it once, i'll say it again.

Babel is one of the WORST players i've ever seen in a red shirt.

totally agree mate, the trouble is he's been given more time also than players when you look back that were better than him also.

trouble is mate like iv'e said it's due to our financial situation that he's been given as long as he's had. but enough is enough isn't it!

its our financial situation that makes it worse. we paid 12 MILLION for this clown and Rafa should have got shot of him last season.

i agree mate, but who showed any interest in him last season, let alone this transfer window? on todays performance we'd be better off tying to loan him out with the option to raffle him off,to save money that way.

He is too expensive an asset to be able to loan out. If we had more depth to our squad maybe but when we have the likes of Voronin waiting in the wings we have to keep playing him. If we don't then his value will go down even more. I think if we can just keep him in the squad enough for him to be picked for the national team in the summer then hopefully there should be a buyer or 2 then.

This is the thing, no matter how many times he has bad games, there are always people that say we should hold onto him until he comes good.

We are doing pretty much the same thing with Lucas. Holding onto these young players that have a very minor chance of becoming future stars and its costing us.

There comes a time when you just have to accept that he has had his chance and he hasnt proven himself.

:nod  summs it up nicely mate,if any club comes in for either player IMHO let's just cut our losses, rather than experience any futher displays like today that will just frustate an p1ss me off even more!

it really is time that they moved on,cause as iv'e said in the past-thei performances do nothing to help motivate the ressy players with their attitude into being selected -what sort of example are they setting etc.
