Babel plays the same kind of game as Robinho, Right-footed coming in from the left. If he improves we could really benefit.

So, Rafa seems to be pointing out that his mentality was wrong before and that it's better now.  I hope he's right and Babel's like a new signing for us.  I will gladly eat humble pie if he comes good.  Time will tell, though, and the other side of Rafa's comments are that 'this is your last shot, son, impress me.'

Ryan stays behind to work on his game so i think he really does want to improve and hopefully he will.

Me too. But he needs more chances. I know you have to make the most of the chances you get but it must be hard to motivate yourself when you are on the bench every week.

He gets plenty of chances but just isn't good enough, we should have let him join Arsenal coz im sure he would be a world class player by now.

If we let him join Arsenal and become a world class player then they would be more of a threat to us sooo its a good job we got him

I think he has everything in his locker to be a top player , pace , skills and a wicked shot , he can cross with both legs , but he relies too much on his right . If rafa has said that he's impressed with him than clearly ryan must be doing something right , could he be the solution to our wing problems ? i guess we'll just have to wait and see , but whatever it is this is make or break season for him if not he could be sold before the start of the next

I think he will be the back up striker for Torres we have all been asking for.... which probably means many more games on the bench
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

I've been a staunch advocat of Babel - I was absolutely delighted when he signed (I heard it quite late on as I was getting married in Turkey - seriously, I was jumping around a bar when I found out as I knew all about him) and I for one am waiting (ne praying at the min) for the day that Babel comes really good and shows everyone exactly what he can do.

Remeber the goal against Derby? I was still away and was virtually creaming my undercrackers (sorry for the thought!) at that goal and its that that I cling myself to as to what Babel is truely going to deliver.

Big, big year for him this. I truly hope he has taken on board the 'Benitez Way' - knuckles down, does what he is told and heeds the advice he gets - and discovers his true potential. I for one will be cheering him on first game of the season as I believe in the lad, 100%.

I hope he does well. He reminds me of Cisse, almost good enough to be a bit player but probably deserves to be a focal point of a lower club. He has better finishing then Cisse ever had mind you (im trying to forget that horrible whiff in a game somewhere in the 2nd half of the season).

Personally, I'd flog him. He's had too long now to "prove" himself and hasn't delivered to expectations. Looks lazy on the pitch and huffy when he fluffs (which, granted, is pretty much 90% of the time)

Hundreds of good players would have a fight in order they had the same chances Babel has had in Liverpool. In big clubs there's not that much time and patience, and I'd even go as far as saying he has had more chances than many!

Definitely this must be the last shot, Babel has to focus on football and not in doing a hip hob band.

Yes Feeney, I remember. One of the reasons I'm a bit harsher with Babel than with Kuyt, is that precisely he has more quality and more potential, but a small fraction of his commitment. Alonso mentioned this year Babel as the player with more quality, but Alonso mentioned the last year in a local interview his decission making hinder him.

I'm not too optimistic about changing mindsets after being 22 year old, but let's hope he does well this season. The quality is his boots, let's see what happens with his mindset.
