Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I must confess when I saw Micah Richards first play for Man City I thought he was monstrous (meaning good). Now I've been away for a bit and I see very little football other than ours (and even then not all of that) and by all accounts he's gone off the rails/lost it/become a bit of a c...

I cannot believe though that the kid that I saw coming through isn't worth 5 million quid. Feck me if you can get him for that and get his head right, he must be a steal surely?

His form just seems to have gone very badly downhill but still got all the ability in the world - was immense for the Under 21s the other night after that supposed superstar Mancinne got sent off .

I also wish that fans would stop banging on about the fee.

All the moaners complaining about it costing too much were probably the same gaggle who were bitching that the money we paid for Torres was too much for a striker who was unproven in the Premiership and wasn't an out and out goalscorer, and thought we got done good and proper when we bought Mascherano for £18m.

Think Micah Richards would make a much better RB than CB at the moment... needs to mature a little more especially in terms of awareness and all round positioning..seems to rush into daft challenges and is a little too excited to be a good CB for a top club... still a good shout for RB though... would be a shame if any of the other top4 snap him, thats for sure... ManCity shouldnt sell him... not for any sort of money, not like they need it... In a few years he'll be a big name i think...

Bearing in mind he'll be coached by the man who took Carra from makeshift left back or right back and made him a top class centre back I think he'd be a very good signing.

I wouldn't mind Richards too if it's true he could be available for £5 million, I think Rafa could make a top class centre back and right back out of him and we'd potentially have 2 of the best English defenders for the next 10 years, which wouldn't be a bad thing at all considering UEFA's antics.

Micah Richards is sh!t player - have you watched Man City's defense this season. The guy has no positioning sense at all.

Mark Hughes is to blame for his downfall the kid was amazing a few seasons ago and under Erikson he was brilliant, his nerves went last season because Dunne was making loads of mistakes and he was having to cover for him.

I remember our ressies played City in the FA CUP a few seasons ago Richards absolutly ran the show he was brilliant the lads got tallent he just needs a manager to tell him how good he is.

All his confidence has gone.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Glen Johnson's anticipated £18m switch to Liverpool has been put on hold with the main negotiating figures on their holidays.
The Anfield outfit remain quietly confident of winning the race for the England right-back ahead of Manchester City and Chelsea.

But everything is on pause with both Rafa Benitez and Johnson on their summer break.

In addition, Peter Storrie has been in Israel since Monday, discussing tabled bids with Sacha Gaydamak.

Sounds like Parry's still around!

If we really wanted him surely they could all get to a fax to get this completed. If Storrie's in Israel discussing tabled 'bids' then it doesn't sound like we're the only ones in for him.

I'll be happy when it's confirmed but at the moment i'm not overly confident it's a done deal.

If Storrie is discussing other bids then that means we are not set to get him?

I can't believe Rafa would be just onm holiday also. He would be on the phone getting it done still.

would Micah Richards even get into our first 11? I mean, to get his form back he needs a good run of games with some quality players around him. But to be honest, i would rather have Agger next to Carra week-in-week-out.

I know but based on previous events I don't think Rafa would want to let any transfers get away.

And im pretty sure he isnt going to let any get away - in fairness any other previous transfers that have failed is because of transfer funds .

I for one never worried about the fee paid for Torres or Mascherano, but I certainly thought we paid over the odds for Keane and are doing so again for Johnson.

Just because someone doesn't clap their hands like a trained chimp every time we buy a player doesn't mean that they can't appreciate the difference between buying a top class player at a reasonable price and an over-rated player for an extortionate price

I never complained about the price we paid for Bellamy either..... I just said he wasn't good enough.
