their players have a habit of being successful in La Liga after leaving Manchester.

You cannot really stablish a pattern, some players simply adapt better to a kind of football.

Makelele hadn't in Spain a third of the impact he's have in England. He would never make it with his style to be one of the most valued players. IMHO he was blatantly underrated in Spain, and a bit overrated here. But that's just my opinion.

You never know what's going to happen with a player when he comes to Spain or viceversa. In some cases like Gerrard it's safer to bet as they have enormous quality but you never know. I never thought for instance that little Luis would play that well here.

if i remember correctly pique and rossi cost utd about 6millon between them so there isnt much of a profit there, this is just what i remember my manc friends saying anyway

as for the squad thing 62 seems alot but when you consider it makes up most of the first team squad, reserves and youth team it becomes a little less silly, not to mention about dozen of them must be on loan

my opionin is if your going to compete in 4 competions like the big teams are expected to you need 25 players of quality 2 for each position and a couple of utility players to compensate for injurys etc
and a simliar number of young players for the reserves to continue the circle of life

As far as I am aware Pique went as a 16 year old and cost nothing, while Rossi went for a nominal fee at 17 mate. (I think it was £200k)

Well, just heard on the grapevine that we're supposedly interested in E'to
It's a sad hard fact
No matter how much you want to concentrate on home grown talent and youth,
when a player with E'to's class becomes available, you have to pitch in to snap him up
It's the way the game is being played now
It's hard to argue that the premiership is the best league in the world right now,
and that means big spending to stay ahead...
The only True Reds in england...........

Right lets be sensible.

How can i possibly have proof, its just my opinion.

Its based on the fact that despite winning the youth cup two seasons running and then the reserve league the following season only a couple of players have even had a sniff.

What Rafa has done instead is gone out an brought in some more squad players that hinder these young lads chances of ever getting a look in.
Degen is one of them, yes Finnan was going so we may have been short of cover but Stevie Darby was reserve team captain that won the league and then sees Rafa bring in Degen who was injury prone before he arrived and described by Dortmunds fans as nowhere near good enough for LFC.

You keep saying Nemeth was going to be promoted to the first team squad and would have been playing but for injuries.
How do you know ?
We had at the start of the season....

Torres
Keane
Kuyt
Babel

and then Rafa signed Ngog, another unproven player.
Thats five players and given that we often play just one striker with Gerrardit seems unlikely that Nemeth would have got a look in, its just your assumption.

Again like Darby that would be a massive kick in the teeth for someone who played so well and who is already playing full international football.

El Zahr who keeps getting mentioned is around the same age as Rooney so hardly a kid and he plays here and there.

Cant see the comparison and anyone who thinks kids get a fair crack of whip at LFC is blinded imho.
