Does size really matter ? - Would you rather it was bigger

I was wandering what size the pitch will be when/if  we move to the new stadium. Would a big one be better or should we make it tiny like Wigans, which is 14 yds narrower than ours so we could stop worrying about wingers?

Anfield 111yds by 74 yds
Wigan  110yds by 60yds

Old trafford sized 116yds by 76yds may be a better option if we want a bit more space.

pitch sizes

I think with the creative players we have at the moment its always an advantage to have a large pitch for home matches.

I like a large one which can be easily manipulated :)

Keep it the same size as Anfield...... Hopefully the proximity we enjoy now can be replicated and somehow imitate the same atmosphere.... after all, why change the size of the pitch that has given us so much joy over the years.... Probably that particular snippet reveals my inate resistance to change. Sure sign of age... :D

Funny one this.... remember when Souness was at Rangers? he had their pitch width altered on a weekly basis dependant upon whom they were playing.... Maybe make the playing area quite large so it can be marked to suit....?

having watched 2 great but aging stadiums be replaced in detroit i would just love to see the field and everything below seat level replicated at the new anfield. this would let the fans see what they always have and then build modern stuff above. i understand the realities of marketing but there is always something nice seeing a proper pitch, just like shankley saw it.

The bigger the better, with great passers of the ball such as Stevie and Xabi we would have no worries and as we all know Liverpool are a passing team so a bigger pitch, more space and more fluent football. :D

If we're gonna stick with Crouch we need the pitch as big as possible so we can get the ball wide and stick in crosses for the scissor kick king

i hate it when those poo relegation fighting teams do things like make the pitch smaller and dont cut the grass, its disgraceful and is basically cheating IMO.

Well the gooners seem to be having a bit of a problem adapting to a bigger pitch in their new stadium so I say keep it the same size

I can't believe anyone would say keep it the same size because the gooners are struggling adapting to their new pitch.  It's a 999 year lease! the players will adapt to the pitch within a few matches.  We can't build the new stadium to fit the playing styles of Crouch, Alonso and Gerrard.  That would have been like the current Anfield being built to accomodate the 19th Century players- what good is that now?

Regarding the size of my p.enis, I was unfortunately in an accident with a plate glass window with the tragic result that I lost the top 4 inches of my p.enis. They managed to repair it but all I have left now is a 10 inch stump. :D
