"with the narrow qualification against Standard Liège on penalties last week a matter of huge significance"

What the feck? There was no shootout.

"RBS will be aware of the £400m DIC bid on the table and, as the Americans' banker, can order them to accept it."

+1 :)

everton's chairman :D

Kenwright reckons that the amazing takeover of Manchester City this week has already changed the footballing battleground that Everton are fighting on.

Kenwright desperately wants to see the new stadium built in Kirkby to give the club more financial clout.

He said: 'I cannot go on like this, we need a new owner and we will continue to try to find one.

'I cannot see an alternative. This summer's transfer window has been the worst and most difficult I can remember.

'Now Arabs have bought Manchester City making it even more difficult for Everton football club. I am a pauper when it comes to other chairmen.

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

I just read on the BBC sports page about Kenwright pretty much begging a billionaire to come and buy the club off him. Imagine DIC thought sod Liverpool lets buy the bluenoses. I think if that happened i would give up on football.

No way even he wouldn't have been able to compete with what we face now.

I don't think that will happen cos DIC sheikh's are Liverpool fans.

And they will finally ride out into the sunset with a big fat wad of cash

I cant wait to see the back of them and at the same time Im so angry that they will get a big pay off for doing nothing but drag our club through the gutter.

It was always their intention they never had any plans of sticking around, Gillett played his part with Bose releasing DICs 7 year plan.

Tbh ciggy if i was a billionaire I pay them both 50 mil just to fu.ck off with out even getting worried.

I would also prob hire a 2 man hit team to take em out lol.

I think more importantly the question should be. Will Man Cities new owner be investing more than what DIC would? DIC have always seemed to want to invest in Liverpool but not go stupid. The New City owner could well go stupid. On that link it names all the players he wants to bring in. Having said that, anyone that has ever been to Dubai or Abu Dhabi will know how much competition there is between each emerate. One builds a tall building the other has to build a taller one. If DIC did buy Liverpool now i think the sheik would want to garauntee we keep players like Torres and agressivley go after other big names. Also these guys really like buildings and i wouldn't be suprised if they had to build the biggest stadiums just to out do one another. It could get silly.  :D

man city can go mad with 500m and they dont need to spend it on a new ground, that is what their new owners were looking for, a team that alrady has the ground in place so the money could be spent on new players for the team to win things.

Lakes/Anfield rapper thanks for the answer ....

I think it's all depends at the end season, if they don't win in the top four it's not easy to buy good players unless these players go for money NOT football.
