It does'nt mean people agree with the way football is going! The majority im sure would like to see wage caps and all the rest put in place.
Unfortunately until such times we have to go the way football is going or get left behind!
Look at Man City?Whos next?Everton maybe,it could be anyone!

Call it hypocricy if ya like but i'd rather be called a hypocrite than watch all sorts of mid league teams all become mega rich over night and us being stuck with two skint rednecks that could'nt get finance for a fuc, king skoda!

We need them out and fast

from liverpool echo forum.

Folks,

I have had private correspondence from Oliver Kay - I contacted him at the Times by e-mail today asking him for further clarification, regarding his article on the takeover in today's paper. It seemed simply a re-hash of old news to me, speculative, with little quotes from sources, new material or time-frames attached, etc. So I courteously and politely put this to him. It was good of him to reply. Here it is:

"Robbie

Thanks for your e-mail. I detected a note of frustration in what you wrote and I can understand that. Almost a year after the Dubai link resurfaced, you are clearly looking for hard evidence that something has changed, rather than a reporter simply saying that things are (or appear to be) changing. I understand why you may feel that you are reading the same old things over and again and that nothing ever changes.

BUT ... things are changing. I have it on very good authority (or authorities) that Hicks and Gillett are reaching or, in one case, have reached the point where they know they can't take LFC forward. I know that their financial positions are increasingly parlous, I know that they are coming under growing pressure from the banks and I also now know that they are genuinely unnerved by developments at Manchester City, which is something I merely hinted at yesterday.

Am I in a position to say exactly how this will play out? No. Am I able to say what their next move will be? No. Am I willing to name my sources? Absolutely not, sorry. The Arabs haven't spoken for months; it is not their style. We haven't heard a peep out of the Americans for months, but, significantly, we did not even get the usual and expected Hicks denial today. As for Staveley, she does not talk to the media -- or so I thought until I heard that she had been on BBC radio last night confirming that talks are ongoing etc and that Dubai remain interested "at the right price".

I really can understand you becoming cynical about this takeover saga, particularly after things happened so quickly at Manchester City, but everything I am hearing on this points to Hicks and Gillett reaching breaking point in the coming months (before that January 25 deadline) and selling to Dubai. Sorry I can't be more specific, but I hope I've answered most of your questions and allayed your suspicions that I was merely fantasising ...

All the best -- and fingers crossed it will get sorted out quickly because, believe me, I'm as sick of this as you are ..."

Thanks Goat. I wonder what Hicks thought at the mere prospect of Man City being able to bid 135Mil for Ronaldo.

it seems they made the report based on the leak from Merril Lynch  (Merril Lynch telling Hicks that he should sell).

If there is no statement from twit & tw@t within the next 24 hours I think its probably end game.

And they will finally ride out into the sunset with a big fat wad of cash

I cant wait to see the back of them and at the same time Im so angry that they will get a big pay off for doing nothing but drag our club through the gutter.

It was always their intention they never had any plans of sticking around, Gillett played his part with Bose releasing DICs 7 year plan.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Thank god we never won anything whilst they have been in charge. Hopefully there will be nothing left of them to remind us of these dark years... except Torres masch and Babel.

I hope tomorrow brings some good news

"I know that their financial positions are increasingly parlous"

Interesting use of the word parlous when most people would have said perilous.

I love our club and im proud of the way we stand together in situations like we find ourselves with our Bill n Ben owners, I love the way we never get on the managers back at the ground and in the past the board have always had our full support.

BUT THINGS HAVE TO CHANGE.........We are the peoples club, no one invloved in liverpool has dared cross the fans, as this would mean they would have to go, the fans are the most important thing at liverpool and with out them your on your own. luckily weve had good people at our club, which has meant we have got, relitively, what we want. This isnt gna happen now as the americans dont care, and unless we get unite like we always do a a club stand firm these kunts are gna rip a hole through the middle of our club, leave us far behind the others and in turmoil bcos they couldnt give a toss what we think of them or what they do to the club, and therefore anything is possible.

A mass protest of sack the board would of been heard long long ago at most clubs, we are to proud of the fact that we dont do that sort of the thing at our club, as we like to be seen as the loyal fans that most of us are, but something has to be done to put the wheels in motion, bcos at the moment things look bleak.

We have to get tweedle dee and tweedle dum out of Anfield.. id like to see DIC in, settled and ready to try and upstage there rivals over at man city in january, but that is becos they are minted, but if the liverpol consortium could put together a bid then i would much rather see the club in the hands of the fans. Im sure many people agree and disagree but i would like to hear people thoughts on the best way of moving forward.

Well there has been no statement on the Offal saying they are not selling yet (touch wood).
