For once i had some real good insider news on our club and by the time i got in and posted it she pops up on the Radio and almost says what i had just posted lol.

Just called my mates again to see if there was any more news after what she has come out and said, what i was told is that Liverpool takeover is the talk of Merrill Lynch today.
but what has also come out is that DIC might not be the only ones to try to take us over.I have no names of the others but its good to hear that we are not the black sheep and there is big intrest in us.

when this happens it going to be fast, it will all be done before we are told about it.

There is other parties that are intrested in us are two indian brothers who hate each other and some Norweigen consortium. Plus DIC and the yanks are interested in the indans offer.

are you Amanda??? lol

yep your spot on. but not sure the indans offer is a good idea.

Apologies if already posted

Insh'allah.

How did I know this would happen? Transfer market was poor and here comes the ....

Sheikh Invasion: DIC Back In For Reds

so you're all getting excited about an article on the notoriously unbelievable goal.com that is taken from a story in that fountain of truth, the s*n. shame for even considering it.

its such an easy story to come up with and right up that sh!trag's street. "incredibly rich arabs buy man city will make other rich arabs chnage their minds and buy liverpool."

what a load of boll'ocks.

i don't know if i still even want liverpool to get involved in this ridiculous war of egos between billionaires and end up offering 9 figure sums for some superstar or other. i'd rather see the fa, fifa and uefa grow some balls and introduce salary caps and transfer limits. i have the horrible feeling that football will die a death if they don't.

I think all the press today are based on what happend at Merrill Lynch , they told Hicks to sell and to sell NOW.
Then 4 hours later Amanda Staveley turns up on radio 5 to say DIC are still looking to take us over.
Merrill Lynch told Hicks now is the time to sell due to the Man City takeover has just happend and DIC will be begging to take us over (ok not begging).

The press have just got wind of this and put their own spin on it.

is there any good reason why you feel you have to say this?

its nice that we're getting outside investment in the uk is it? good, i'm glad you think so. do you also think it is a good thing for football in general that billionaires, from whatever nation, are satisfying there egos by trying to outdo each other with who can spend the most on footballers? will you really feel proud if liverpool achieve quick success in this way? do you really think i'm being a cry baby if i won't?

Well if every one is getting bought by billionairs it won't be quick sucuess and man there is 3-4 in prem now if we don't get help we be lucky to still be around in prem in few years.

Football is going this way get used to it this is way forward.

I feel this was always going to happen ALWAYS !

Since those big transfers starting happening in early 90s , football is biggest sport in world and i don't see it slowing down any time soon.

How much money do those Indian brothers and that Norwegian guy have? More than DIC? I hope we do not see a repeat of before where we are just sold to whoever paid most for the shares rather than who actually has more money to spend.

in my opinion football is losing its meaning fast. it has nothing to do anymore with a bunch of talented players being developed by a club, or of a club developing enough of a fanbase to allow it to generate revenue with which to improve its ground and playing staff (a realistic business model). success based on the genuine achievements of a club is becoming a thing of the past. if DIC come in, spend 300 million on the worlds superstars and we win the premiership next season, what will we be cheering? on the one hand, of course, that we are at the top again, and that we are not being overtaken by the mancs. but on the other hand, and more realistically, we will be cheering the depths of the pockets of our investors.

Mukesh Ambani is the richest Indian in the world, but it doesnt matter whos richer than who.

I just want stability at the club, for rafa or who ever is the manager to get his 1st choice targets and not having to settle for 3rd and 4th choices.

And most of all I want our club back to normal with normal people running it, and are not gobbing off in the media every 5 minutes.
I want owners that have our best interests at heart.
