TAKEOVER COMPLETE - H & G Finally Jibbed!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby ShanklyReturns » Thu Aug 21, 2008 5:57 pm

Just returned from Dubai. My friend is a Director for DIC and Sameer Al Ansari's right hand man. A few things I learned, Sheikh Maktoum is now personally interested in buying Liverpool (via DIC). Also DIC employed a company to monitor all the comments from chats and forums to see opinion. DIC is only interested in buying and then selling Liverpool at a profit in the future. Plus when the Americans came to Dubai there was cordial relations until their direct talking and approach which tried to squeeze as much money from DIC. Also another bid will be made soon. But do not think DIC are the saviors as there will be allot of changes when they do take over. And they will take over!

So DIC will pay a full price to buy from T&T then spin it themselves and try to max a profit?

Whose got deeper pockets than DIC to buy it from them apart from a float?

Somewhere in the middle of your story, exists a football club.

Its a nice story but we´re all well past getting excited by tittle-tattle.

"Dubai International Capital Private Equity is focused on secondary buy-outs and acquisitions of market leading companies in Europe and North America with a proven strategy and a robust management team."

That's from DIC's own website. The bit about proven strategy and robust management team seems to end Ricky Boy's involvement in Liverpool if DIC come in. As was said earlier, if they do take over there will be some changes, on a big scale.

There lies the reason why he pulled the plug on the original deal no matter how many times he wheels out the 'You only sell the family silver once' line it'll always be the 'look after number one' approach that was really going through Coco's mind when he was whoring the club around the globe!!!

Id say Moores had more say in the sale of the club than Parry. DIC could have taken over, they could easily have outbid the yanks offer. But they didnt. DIC, whatever anyone says wanted the club cheap, cheaper than what the yanks bought it for. They had the opportunity, and decided not to buy. Heres something they should stick on there website, why they decided not to up there initial offer to better the bid made by the yanks, and why, if the initial bid was a "steal", they didnt go out of there way to ensure they got LFC in the first place rather than drag on and on the reports they are still interested AFTER they had a chance to do something about it.

MAYBE...... they thought the club was safer in the hands of known sports club owners with track records rather than pure business men coming from the middle east with no connection to club sports??

No, the highest offer was accepted. It could have turned into a bidding war, in which the yanks would have lost, but DIC didnt want to play, they wanted the club cheap and that was it.

Dont know if any here know much about Dubai or Shk.M.Maktoum but the way DIC work and the way decisions that are directly associated with Shk.Maktoum and projects that hes personally interested in is by extensive research mainly through private and governmental research agencies. Anyways long story short, from what i have seen of every single project proposed by DIC or Shk.Maktoum personally, they seem to be in them for the long term. They believe in substantial initial investments on projects that MAINLY increase reputation and status in the short term and then bank huge profits in the long term. Dont know if any have read his book or know about his 'vision' but the guy and the company wouldnt buy then shortly after sell for a profit beause quite simply thats not the way they do large scale (highly publicized) business.

With regards to LFC they havent done any business. But there name keeps popping up offering hope for those who want the yanks to give up the club so DIC can give it a go. I wont read there book or buy into anything they say about the club because simply, like it or not, they are nothing more than a rumour. The rumour was, they were interested in the club, and the rumour is, they still are, the rumour also is, they have money to spend. But the fact is, we are owned by the yanks.

Personally i dont really care much about the whole ownership talk and all. I think we dont have good enough players and our manager does his fair share of fckin up with his tactics/selections/buys..etc and thats why we arent challenging for the league. If anyone expects DIC or whoever it is thats going to buy us to come out and give RAFA 100mill to spend on new players would quite simply be out of his mind. Even if they did have mega bucks to spend on players, i definitely wouldnt want Rafa to be the one picking the players we get with that sort of money. Anyways, DIC or no DIC i dont really care but just thought some might be interested on how they usually go about their businiess.

Rumour? They had an agreement and a handshake to buy us before Moores and coco decided to enter talks with the yanks, thats why they didnt make a further offer they felt betrayed and withdrew. And its a rumour they've plenty money? Have you seen dubai?
Dont judge a book by the cover, unless you cover just another, because blind exceptance is a sign,

They felt betrayed? They are very familiar with how the business standing works. They felt betrayed? A successful club like Liverpool, available on the market for as low a price as DIC had made to them and were able to buy us for a pinch. They felt betrayed because they never got there own way, they felt betrayed because simply, the bargain of the century was open to them and someone else saw potential in the club. Lets look at DIC, they had the mighty reds at a set price, and thats all they were worth. DIC refused to budge on the price. A bargain was to be had and they failed in the fact that they thought everything would fall into place for them to get everything there way.

Many people are sat thinking DIC will be our saviours, I would join in that opinion if they were in charge now but they are not, the yanks are, for all there crudeness in how they handle things are for all to see, the yanks are in charge, they have put up the money. DIC are all talk. They have done nothing to convince me otherwise.
