Sorry but that is b0llocks, what about the money for Torres and Mascha. I hate our owners as much as the next Liverpool fan but lets get the facts straight, Rafa has been given money in the last 2 seasons and has bought well. Personally I'm not too worried about the Barry deal falling through, it would have been nice to have him but it was more important to get Keane.

All bought on loans mate. The sum TOTAL of Hicks and Gilletts personal investment in Liverpool (not including said loans) is £5million each when the club was purchased.

Not being funny, if I brought a club/business there is no way in hell I'd dip into my own pockets for vast amounts of money to aid that business. Thats quite risky really, I'd get loans out for that business to make it grow and make the repayments back from that business, still hoping it turns out successful. Then I'd claim whatever the f.uck I could for invested/loaned money into that business back on Tax.

Thats business isnt it ?

And basically this stems back to when Roman Abramnovic bought Chelsea, it went some way to ruining football.  :no

Bang on unfortunatley - we gotta keep remebering these guys arent here for the club, the history, nothing about Liverpool at all, they are here to run a business, which is why its even more annoying.

We are a club who deserved to be taken over by people who were at the very least knowledgable in some sort of "soccer" somneone who could understand what we are / were when it came to footy.

Who knows maybe DIC would have been better (im 99% certain they would) but unfortunatley we didnt get them.

Still heres hoping them scum finally do give us a reprive and leave before Rafa goes and takes with him a lot of LFC fans hope for the near future.

Right ok then , say they buy silva instead (i'm sure most people will be creaming themselves if they do )and silva can't cut it in the prem and is sh!te . Who do you blame ? is it rafa's fault ? will you be calling for his head ? It is'nt rafa's decision ,to buy this fella , it's the owners (who know as mich about football as i know about anger management.)

Everyone has had ago at some of rafa's buys in the past and it's fair enough ,because they've been his choices . You live or die by your decisions as a manager. Not now mate ,because you've been undermined and the decision making process has been taken away from you.

Surely thats not applicable, what happens if Barry comes here and doesnt fit into our style of play? what happens if he just cant gel with the other players - we could argue all day about it to be honest but they will all be what if's

I dont care whether we buy SIlva or not but a left sided player is needed more than a central midfielder imo and H&G are right on this one, he is vastly overpriced for his age, like s@int said in another topic EVERY transfer is a risk.

its just the way thaty H&G did this that annoys me - not the fact that they did it

Of course it's applicable. Either rafa makes the decisions on what player he wants or he doesn't . Either you trust the manager or you don't . It's simple.

The board " well bob ,we think Joe jordan will be better ,he would cost the same and is younger "

Bob Paisley " Feck off , there's my resignation , stick it up your @rse."

You are correct, which shows they dont trust him - which is really bad.

They arent the type of people to just let people throw cash away though by the sounds of it when it doesnt need spending - I think 99% of people will admit that we dont need Barry.

Yep they have just blatantly undermined Rafa again - but this time i'm in agreement with it (the decision not the undermining)

In this case, Gillett, Hicks and Parry are 100% correct.

18M for Gareth Barry is such a robbery, MON should be wearing a balaclava and driving a Transit van.

There's no way that Liverpool should pay so much.

I would recommend focusing on finding two good wingers.

If there is an agreed budget, and the signing of Barry falls within that budget, the signing of Barry should be sanctioned. That is, if there is £18m to be spent, let Rafa decide how it should be allocated.

It cannot be any clearer than that.

fook him off i say, if he wanted the move bad enough the transfer request would of been handed in weeks ago, maybe then both clubs could of knocked heads together and got it sorted.

leave him there and lets get behind Alonso.

I don't think so, because it sends a message to all other clubs that Liverpool can be held to ransom for a player who's value may be grossly inflated.
