According to Manhattan's sources, MON just said.....something, but Manhattan's sources couldn't understand what he was saying because of his accent.

I would rather of taken a 30 year old Deco for £8 mil who has more ability than Gareth Barry can ever only dream of having.  £18 mil for Barry is wasteful.

Just for the way MON has acted I'd pull out of this deal, hes bought Sidwell in to replace Barry thinking we will pay the silly price tag hes put on his head, that will leave him up :censored: creek

Here we go again. How O'neil has acted? You mean the way he hasn't just handed over his club's best player and Captain for whatever amount we want to pay? How dare he.

Not too sure I agree with you.... Deco's a mercenary and a cheating, diving c*nt..... and I don't think that physically he's up to it.

18 million quid is expensive but not wasteful..... Barry's an excellent player... better than the Carricks and Hargreaves of this world. Going by that reckoning, 18 million looks about right from a Villan standpoint.

However, just because the mancs are willing to pay above and beyond market value, doesn't make it right for us. The most that Barry can be realistically valued, IMO, is Xabi's selling price and even that is debatable as arguably Xabi is the better player (form not withstanding). There are not many players of Barry's calibre, versatility and proven premiership pedigree available out there for 10-12 million. So I guess you can understand MON's petulance, even if I don't agree with his valuation. After all they are under no obligation to sell.

So if it was left to me, if Villa is adamant about the price, the answer is simple.... "Walk Away - Kelly Clarkson"

I'm starting to think the same thing S@int. The money if tight, needs to go on the areas where the team really needs strengthening. I'd like to see Barry join, but with the price of him being eched up everytime we make an offer its starting to get to drawn out now for me.

If Rafa can afford to offer 15 million for Barry why not use that to haggle with someone like Silva ?

The good news is there is still two months to sign players, the bad news is we're still talking about Barny and have probably wasted about 18m words on the subject which Barny definitely ain't worth
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

I am becoming increasingly concerned about the prospect of Liverpool getting Barry for any amount. I wish we would take the reported amount of money and concentrate on a winger like David Silva.

Deco £8m
Barry £18m

Is it me or is there something wrong this.

His price is so high due to him being English. (So its based on his Race and not what he can do)

That being the case a person finding it hard to do the job they wish due to their Race falls within the Race discrimination act.

Barry and Liverpool could fight this and have the price set for them.
