Firstly I would like to reiterate the fact , although I haven't frequented this forum for a couple of years ,I have viewed it ,but have not felt the need to become embroiled in any opinionated slanging match .My second point is who better than someone who has been part of this forum when it was a haven for knowledgable fans ,instead of the copy and paste brigade to proffer his opinion ,someone who has had 2 stints as a newbie .
I am merely stating a fact Woof something drastic needs to be done to ensure new members stick around , and are made welcome .

Copy and paste brigade? unless your reading the rumour mill thread that hasnt happened with the rest of this forum. Something drastic needs to be done to ensure new members stick around? Of course, your right, but is that down to this forum? or indeed the mods? or is it down to the arrogance of new members joining with the intention of acting a fool and acting like they know everything simply because they are a regular on another forum demanding attention? Im with woof on this one, no drastic action is needed, at least not from the mods and us who are regular on here. The action that is needed to be taken are by members who appear now and again claiming to be of the mind of Isaac Newton or Einstein. "I art clever than thou", not here you aint. If you dont like it, then click on bookmarks, right click on this forum link then select delete. It really is that simple.

Obviously I have hit a raw nerve so I will drop it ,as for your other point I certainly don't claim to be of a higher iq than any one else ,but I am not going to start apologizing for the manner in which I post.

You hit a nerve when you said about the newbies. The new members are given a chance, and they are shown total respect by long term members and mods but that fact seems to have surpassed you, indeed as you say, you are twice a newbie and still here posting negatives about this site, the fact you are still here shows there is more tolerance than ever. Enough with the negatives, lets have some decent posts. I have yet to see that from your good self.

the fact I am still here ? explain what great  transgression I have inflicted on this forum to merit such a response .
Let it drop, and I will follow suit, then maybe I might post a valid reply relating to football ,that is when I am allowed to start topics of my own .

All you have done is bitch, whinge and moan about the state this forum is in. You havent read through all the topics on this forum, you have simply shown up and formed your own negative opinion. All you have done since you have been here is feel aggrieved at how you have been treated, because you lost your password and cannot access your old account, all you have done is whinge at this forum because you cannot recall your old account. All you have done is created a new account and are bitter because you cannot start new threads based on the fact YOU have forgotten your old password for this site.

We have to pay for your memory, we have to suffer the negatives you post because you cannot access your old account. We have to suffer the tripe you post until you post enough to start your own thread. Like I said, there is more tolerance than you would believe. 38 more whinges and your there, good luck with that....

Redbeergoggles if it any consolation I have been a member here for 2 years and made over 1500 posts and folks still dont reply to my points.

I would be most disappointed if they did because I make comments and express opinions, I dont need or expect answers. In addition life is far too short to worry whether someone on the otherside of the world is actually interested in my opinion......  :talktothehand

Post on and enjoy the silence.

And here I was just saying that Barry's been conducting himself well in this whole affair.... :D Looks like he's finally tired of the waiting too.

Barry blasts O'Neill over Reds transfer - Soccernet
Updated: June 29, 2008, 12:31 PM UK

Gareth Barry remains desperate to join Liverpool and has blasted Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill for making no effort to persuade him to stay.

The England midfielder has made no secret of his desire for the regular Champions League football on offer at Anfield. But despite his pleas to the Villa hierarchy to allow him to leave, the midlanders have remained entrenched and rejected a reported £15million bid from the Reds earlier this month.

'My mind's made up, I want to join Liverpool. There's no going back, it's time for me to move on. I'm desperate to play Champions League football and that's why I have to leave Villa.'

O'Neill has been openly critical of Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez over his pursuit of the Villa skipper. But despite O'Neill's public posturing, a scornful Barry insists nothing has been done to get him to remain at Villa Park.

'Villa kept saying they wanted me to stay but I have not heard from the manager for weeks,' he claimed. 'It's seven weeks now since the season finished but while the gaffer's found time to be a pundit for the BBC at Euro 2008, he hasn't found the time to speak to me. Have Villa offered me anything to try to persuade me my future is at Villa Park, not Anfield? Not a thing.'

No more negatives thats all I ask. Also Cheech and chong as your icon, seen the "dave" one on you tube? thats hilarious. Me dads into them, I heard the sister mary elephant one! classss,,classs, SHADDAPPP !

This forum isnt slacking, its doing better than ever. Its only individual attitudes that is deferring it, and yours isnt helping.  You class yourself as an old member and a new one. Unfortunately, the new member is shining through, show the patience and the old one may benefit us. Your not giving off a great image of yourself.

So what happens now? MON says barry can go for 18, we will never pay 18. so what happens when barry is told he is staying at villa? he dont wanna play for them, the fans wont like him... and MON comes out as the baddie and will have to sell at the 15mill wed pay?

all very frustrating but i think MON has really f*cked this one up big time
