O’Neill’s  £20M valuation of Barry is based on the £18m fee paid for Javier

Mascherano last season but Benitez does not concur as Barry, 27, is more than three years older than the Argentinian.

That is crazy. Barry has only played 20 games for ENGLAND, while Mascherano is younger and has played 36 games for ARGENTINA. And there is no comparison between the two deals. Mascherano had to be bought out from third party owners or something crazy like that, AND if I am not mistaken, didn't that deal ALSO include his wages??? Where is MON getting off asking for 20M for Barry

Just goes to show how many people on this forum have blinkered vision which is a shame as Liverpool fans are normally renowned for their football knowledge.  Martin O'Neill has been successful with every team he has managed and has turned Villa into a very competitive side on a small budget.  As Alonso_14 commented, he was many peoples choice to replace Houllier.

Gareth Barry is his teams leader and hes doing everything he can to keep him, which is what any decent manager would do.

Lets pay the 20 million for Barry give Martin the funds to buy Bentley and Sidwell ,lets put a smile back on that chirpy little Irishmans face , lets even throw in a couple of potato fields and a Spudulike restaurant .
Or the other side of the coin is, we could leave the Leprechaun King in limbo and gleefully withdraw our offer from the table, leaving the wee little man crying profusely.

Whatever he has done in management he is still a total c'ck and has been an embarrasment as a pundit with the bbc during the euros.

I cringe everytime i hear him come out with stupid comments, he gives the impression to me of an old confused person who has alzheimers.

And I shiver when I remember that he was one of the newkit fans favourites to replace Houllier, and i think I was one of them, on the other hand, maybe i wasn't .

Thank God for Alzhiemers  .

Once again ignored, Cheers.
The only viable option for a newbie to collect any response is to be argumentative and confrontational, or be consequently ignored ,I have posted numerous replies to posts and received no acknowledgment from any established posters.

But as soon as I have the audacity to confront a poster about his opinion I am given a lecture by a F***ing  Canadian .
This is the death knell for newbies wake up and smell the coffee ,your forum is becoming tiresome and repetitive and our tolerance is on the wane .
The newbies should be welcomed for having different views not slated ,take a good look at your forum its the same posters every day ,no fresh blood .
