Cowboy b.astards. They have ruined this great club. So are they both just planning on paying for new transfers by taking out loans like they did for Torres and Masch?

Spurs & City have more to spend than us its embarressing.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

football truly is a cruel game. I remeber when G+H arrived I was filled wuth such optimism, finally I thought now maybe we could start signing top quality players and compete with :censored: like manure. But no istead a cruel blow, now the club I love so much is being raved like a whore. She is being nailed to the cross and stoned at the same time. These guys really pulled one over me, torres arrived and I thought the talk is being backed up now personal expenses of 1.5 million are being charged to the club like we are some bank. What the :censored: would you be doing spending 1.5 million POUNDS when your club is struggling to find money to compete next year? what did they spend it on? The biggest fear I have is not qualifying fo rthe champs league next season the debt we seem to be incurring is going to break us.

Well hold on, before you lose it altogether. The euros are slowing the transfer market down as most transfer targets are in them. When the season starts, then look at who we have signed and who we havent. We have signed Degen, ok not everybodys cup of tea but was it the board who decided to sign him or rafa? We also have the italian lad on board, again same question. Both players were not involved in the euros, yes degen was included in the squad but we all had an inkling he wouldnt play so that transfer was easy. Wait until the euros are over, and the season begins before doom and gloom kick in.

With the greatest respect Kharaz it's hardly being "doom and gloom" to point out that if we had more money, the likes of Deggen wouldn't be top of our list. Spending money doesn't by any means make success a certainty, but it obviously increases the chances.

It could of course be the case that deggan turns out to be the first free transfer unknown in the history of the Premiership who is an absolutely top class player (I'm not talking Bosman superstar, free transfer unknown). Equally there is the possibility that he will turn out to be sh!t. The most likely scenario of course is that he will be OK, stick around on the fringes for a year or two and then feck off to play for IFK Gothenburg or some other exotically named bunch of cowboys.

Rafa deserves some criticism at times for his "options and possibilities" transfer policy, but to accuse people of "losing it altogether" for pointing out that it would be quite nice if we had a few quid, is a slight overreaction I think.

Yeah wasnt the best phrase I could have used however I meant it as in, before you get too depressed, I do think though the euros are slowing down the transfer activity and my point was lets wait and see for when the season starts rather than getting depressed now. Things may be moving behind the scenes that we dont know about, they must be, otherwise we would have heard some complaint from rafa.

That's a good point. It could just be though that Rafa got his fingers well and truly burned the last time he stepped out of line visa-vis transfer funds and he's decided he'd be better served keeping his gob shut. Hopefully though you're onto something mate and we're going to be pleasantly surprised.

In fairness, last season we probably spent more money than anybody else including Chelsea and Man Utd so when we moaned then we were a wee bit premature as well.

Well I did say probably so apologies if I called it wrong. I seem to remember Saint posting up that we'd spent 70 million last season and if that isn't more than Man Utd and Chelsea, it can't be that far behind I wouldn't have thought.
